Join us the for 2026 San Antonio Ride of Silence - Wednesday, May 20th. The Ride of Silence is a global event that raises awareness among motorists, law enforcement, and city officials about the rights of cyclists to share the road. Participants ride in silence, maintaining a pace no faster than 12 mph and wear white to commemorate those who have suffered in cycling accidents. This year’s San Antonio route spans approximately 10 miles. Organized locally by SATX Social Ride and supported by ActivateSA, the Ride of Silence is held annually on the third Wednesday of May. 📆 Wednesday, May 20, 2026 ⏰ Gather at 6:30 PM, Roll out at 7:00 PM Remarks at 6:45 PM from: - Councilwoman Dr. Sukh Kaur (District 1), - Joey Pawlik of ActivateSA, - Murray Myers of the City of San Antonio Transportation Department, - more to be announced. 📍 Main Plaza (115 Main Avenue) DISTANCE: 10 miles SPEED: Moderate pace 10-12 mph Between 2021 and 2025, 36 cyclists were killed and another 118 were seriously injured. In 2025, 6 cyclists were killed and and another 15 were seriously injured. This year alone, 1 cyclist has lost his life, Mark Anthony Morales. These people are our fellow San Antonians, friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers – not coming home to their families or with lives drastically altered. Cyclists are encouraged to wear white clothing in memory of those who have been injured or killed. Many of us wear the names of cyclists killed or severely injured by a vehicle on our clothing. The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. Following the ride, we welcome you to stay and visit with one another. The Ride of Silence will take place on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 PM, weather permitting, with a rain date tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 23 at 10 AM. May is National Bike Month, a time to appreciate the benefits of biking for transportation, recreation, and our well-being — and encourage more folks to give cycling a try! 🚲 Bike Month is a great time to take part in the many Bike Month events in our region, help advocate for the implementation of projects that will help make cycling safer and more comfortable in SATX, and hop on a bike for spin, even if it’s your first or it’s been a while! 🚲 There is so much to do in May, but especially mark your calendar for the rescheduled Síclovía on May 3rd and ActivateSA's own #FiestaBikeParade on May 9th! 🚲 🎉 Be sure to visit Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization's alamoareampo.org/bikemonth resource page to learn more about events happening in our region, and to sign up for the Alamo Commutes Bike Month Challenge to win prizes just for riding your bike in May! 🤑 Happy Bike Month, San Antonio! 🎉 #NationalBikeMonth #SanAntonioCycling #BikeSafety #BikeMonth #SanAntonio #SATX #BikeAdvocacy #CyclingCommunity #BikeSafety #BikeEvents #LeagueOfAmericanBicyclists #BikeCommunity #CompleteStreets #VisionZero

Always a fun time tabling and interacting with new and old friends from San Antonio's cycling community at Bike Fiesta last week! 🚲 🎉 Thank you to one of our awesome board members, Jeffrey Moore, of SATX Social Ride for making Bike Fiesta happen again this year. Also, special shoutout to Nico for representing ActivateSA at Bike Fiesta again this year!
Bike Fiesta 2026 was a success! 🚲 I represented ActivateSA, met members of San Antonio’s cycling community, and listened to their concerns and wishes for the city’s future. I also shared the mission of ActivateSA, along with updates on some of our active and completed projects. It’s always fun to table with ActivateSA, especially with music, food, bike races, and Fiesta medals! Thanks to Joey Pawlik for the opportunity, and here’s to a safe and fun Fiesta season! 🎊🎉

🚨 POSTPONED -2026 Fiesta Bike Parade 🚲 🎉 Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of the Fiesta Bike Parade participants, ActivateSA is postponing this Saturday's Fiesta Bike Parade to a date in May. We understand many of you were feverishly getting ready to participate in our event this weekend but as you might know, we have high percentages of rain 🌧️ this coming weekend and considering that riders of all ages, abilities, and skill types participate in this event, we want to make sure that conditions on our local streets are suitable for the safety of everyone. We are already working on a new date in May, and we will let you all know of the new date by early next week! Thank you all so much for your support, excitement, and participation to help make this year’s Fiesta Bike Parade one of the best yet. 🚲 🎉
