This past weekend at Citizens Bank Park, Team Airgas joined the Philadelphia community for Blood Cancer United's Big Climb Philly. More than 30 Airgas associates and their family members tackled 2,000 stairs, and 80 Airgas associates donated to the organization, in memory of those we’ve lost and in honor of blood cancer survivors. Team Airgas was formed by our colleague, Barry Strzelec, whose daughter, Maddy, is currently a year-and-a-half into her treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Barry, our VP of eCommerce, has been at Airgas for nearly 18 years. The energy was electric as this year’s event raised a record-breaking $800,000 for Blood Cancer United. Team Airgas and Team Maddy raised over $75,000 (and counting), demonstrating the combined power of volunteers and donors. The true highlight? Watching Maddy channel her "spirit animal" (the sloth) to find the patience and grit to complete the climb herself. Her resilience is a masterclass in strength that inspires us all. A heartfelt thank you to the Airgas volunteers and donors, and to Blood Cancer United for your tireless leadership in the fight against blood cancer. #CitizenatWork
