Ninety-five years in, ALPA negotiators are still finding new ways to win. New retirement tools that go beyond 401(k) limits. "Snap-up" clauses that guarantee pilots keep pace with industry pay. Global scope protections that secure widebody flying as airlines expand worldwide. These aren't wins for one carrier, they're templates that raise the bar across the entire profession. PSA Capt. Jonathan Campos was formally and posthumously honored as an American Law Enforcement Hero by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the TSA this week during National Police Week. His name was engraved on the memorial alongside more than 350 other law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. ALPA First Vice President Capt. Wendy Morse and Aviation Security Group Chair F/O Bryan Patchen attended a wreath laying ceremony at TSA Headquarters in his honor, and stood at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on Wednesday evening as his name was read among this year's Roll Call of Heroes. Capt. Campos was lost on January 29, 2025, when PSA Flight 5342 was involved in a midair collision near Washington National Airport — the Federal Flight Deck Officer program's first loss of a mission-status officer. In his 21 months of service, Campos completed 687 in-flight security missions, faithfully protecting the flying public until his final flight. FFDOs serve in silence, unseen by the passengers they protect. Capt. Campos exemplified that quiet dedication.

Airline pilots have been clear: integrated ADS-B In saves lives. Now it's on Congress to act. This technology gives pilots real-time situational awareness — with audio and visual alerts — especially in situations where TCAS falls short, like during approach when aircraft are close to the ground and options are limited. It needs to be a requirement on every commercial airliner. The Senate's ROTOR Act gets it right: a full mandate for ADS-B In with advanced alerting, plus stronger protections against military aircraft operating without broadcasting their position near busy airports. The House-passed ALERT Act doesn't go far enough on either front. As both bills head to conference, the stronger Senate provisions must be in the final legislation. If you haven't already, make sure your representatives hear directly from you, the hands-on experts, on why this matters ➡️ https://bit.ly/3NDtEg9

Mental health isn't binary. It's a continuum. We all shift from thriving to struggling and back again throughout our lives. Recognizing when you've moved along that continuum — when stress, fatigue, or life events have you not in the green — isn't a weakness. It's awareness. If you're not in the green right now, you have support through ALPA. Our Pilot Peer Support program connects you with a trained, fellow pilot who understands what you're going through. Confidential. Nonjudgmental. Available anytime. Sound on to learn more about Pilot Peer Support in action 🔊More: https://bit.ly/4t0wxGw #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth
