Six years on from the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine continues to deliver effective cancer care. Patients prefer it in many settings, and the data support its integration. The central question has shifted from whether telemedicine belongs in oncology to whether the field will commit to the policy advocacy and practice changes required to sustain it. American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) reposted this
In recent years, the number of international and regional scientific conferences has certainly grown. In fact, as we approach conference season, one question that both established and early-career researchers might consider is: which conferences are worth our time, and why? Over the last 15 years on the scientific conference circuit, I’ve certainly gained a clearer view on the ‘why’. The best meetings I’ve attended have often been defined by the enlightening and thought-provoking conversations outside of the conference program. Connections forged on the fringes of the convention hall across different cultures, healthcare systems, institutions and disciplines are often what I carry with me long after the meeting ends. I share more about what keeps me coming back to conferences here.
