  • In healthcare applications, material performance is only part of the equation. Documentation, change management, formulation control, and manufacturing discipline all play a critical role in reducing risk during development and commercialization. In Episode 1 of In Practice, we explore how Americhem’s clean compounding approach supports consistency, traceability, and long-term reliability in healthcare material systems, helping OEMs move from validation to production with greater confidence. 📽️ Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/eayxsiYf

  • At CHINAPLAS 2026, Rose Tu, Americhem’s Vice President, APAC, observed accelerating momentum in materials shaped by automation, regulatory pressure, and advanced end-use demands. PFAS-free solutions are moving into active development across Asia, as manufacturers work to meet tightening requirements without compromising wear, friction, or durability. Automation is raising the bar on consistency and process control. Materials must perform predictably across high-speed, highly automated environments. Healthcare innovation continues to accelerate across the region, with OEMs prioritizing materials that support biocompatibility, validation, and scalable manufacturing. Americhem is working at the center of this shift with PFAS-free solutions, engineered compounds, and additive technologies built for performance, compliance, and scale. With a new ISO 13485 and cGMP-aligned clean compounding facility coming online in Suzhou, we are extending that capability within Asia to support regional production and global program continuity. • Specs. Validation. Performance targets. Launch timelines. Product development teams juggle a lot, and polymer materials decisions can make or break the outcome.    That’s why we created In Practice, Americhem’s new video series built around real conversations with our engineers and technical specialists. We’ll unpack custom solutions and the design considerations that matter in complex applications, so you get exposure to new technologies and practical takeaways you can use right away.    📽️ Watch our preview video and stay tuned for more episodes!

  • Fluid repellency in fibers has traditionally been built on a few core assumptions. Those assumptions are starting to change. 🔹Myth 1: Fluid repellency requires a surface coating. Repellency can be engineered directly into the polymer during melt processing, improving durability and reducing reliance on surface finishes. 🔹Myth 2: PFAS-free means reduced performance. In-melt technologies are closing that gap, enabling resistance to alcohol and other challenging, low surface-energy fluids without fluorinated chemistry. 🔹Myth 3: Removing coatings complicates production. In many cases, the opposite is true. Embedding functionality during melt processing can simplify manufacturing by eliminating secondary finishing steps. As fiber OEMs revisit these assumptions, technology platforms like nDryve™ are enabling fluid repellency to be designed into the material from the start. Which of these assumptions are you seeing challenged in your applications? #nDryve #PFASFree #FiberEngineering #ProcessEfficiency #InMeltTechnology

  • Paint introduces cost, process variation, and an additional step into exterior body panel production. The surface requirement doesn’t change: a deep-gloss, Class A finish that maintains image clarity, resists wear, and holds color under UV exposure, moisture, and impact. Achieving that level of performance directly in the material, while maintaining consistency across parts at production scale, depends on how surface, color, and durability are engineered together. Americhem delivers a material approach that enables high-gloss, molded-in-color surfaces with the durability required for outdoor and powersports environments, removing secondary painting while maintaining surface quality and manufacturing control. If you’re evaluating paint elimination, this case study shows how surface quality, durability, and consistency were achieved in production: https://lnkd.in/ean-Wqic #Americhem #PolymerEngineering #ManufacturingExcellence #Transportation #MoldedInColor

  • Most high-performance polymers are optimized for specific strengths. But real-world applications require those properties to work together. They demand a balance of:  -Strength and toughness  -Chemical resistance and durability  -Processability under real conditions For many engineers, managing these competing priorities is just part of the job. But now, there’s a better choice. Introducing High Performance Alloys (HPA). Engineered to achieve a controlled balance of performance under sterilization and chemical exposure, reducing stress cracking over repeated use. If you’ve been designing around material limitations, you may have more control than you think. • Americhem marked Earth Day 2026 with hands-on work in our local community. Team members in Ohio partnered with the City of Cuyahoga Falls to clean up parks, remove invasive species, and plant new growth. The work was practical, visible, and rooted in the places we operate every day. Sustainability is built into how we run our processes and how we operate locally. The same discipline we apply in our operations carries into how we care for our communities. Thank you to everyone who showed up and contributed! 🌷🌿 #Americhem #EarthDay2026 #SustainabilityInAction #CommunityImpact #CuyahogaFalls

  • At Aircraft Interiors Expo last week, Michael Fair, Americhem’s Global Market Manager for Transportation, observed a shift in aircraft interior materials driven by evolving regulatory, aesthetic, and performance expectations. PFAS-free requirements are gaining momentum, pushing manufacturers to rethink formulations without sacrificing performance. At the same time, airlines and OEMs are prioritizing interior environments that enhance passenger comfort. Calming color palettes are playing a larger role in cabin design. These changes are happening alongside increased demand for functional performance. Interior materials must balance durability, compliance, and long-term reliability. This convergence is raising the bar for material solutions in aerospace. Americhem works with OEMs and designers to develop customized compound, color, and additive systems aligned with these evolving demands. How are material expectations evolving in your aircraft interior applications? #Americhem #AIX #AircraftInteriors #Transportation #MaterialsEngineering #Aerospace
