  • As we celebrate Ascension Sunday, we remember Christ being lifted into heaven 40 days after His Resurrection. The Ascension is not Jesus leaving us, but opening the way for us to follow Him and live with hearts set on what is above. Before He ascended, He gave His mission: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Even now, He remains with us, sending us out as His witnesses in the world.🙌☁️

  • On this Mother’s Day, we turn to Mary, Mother Most Holy, who sanctified the vocation of motherhood through her faithful “yes” to God. Mary, Mother Most Holy, you sanctified the vocation of motherhood; pour out your heavenly aid on all mothers and help them to be holy. Mary, pray for us. Today we give thanks for every mother, living and deceased, and entrust them to her care. 💙

  • Today, we gathered for Witness to Hope: Pastoral Care of Immigrant Communities, a full day convening centered on listening, learning, and responding to the needs of our immigrant brothers and sisters. Together, we reflected on the Church’s teachings on immigration and the dignity of the human person, shared practical “know your rights” guidance, and discussed meaningful ways to accompany and support immigrant families. We also explored important topics like sensitive locations, public witness, and communicating with clarity and compassion. Thank you to all who joined us in this important work of being a Church that walks with others in hope. 🫂🙏

  • As we enter the month of May, we give thanks for the witness of the saints whose lives continue to bear fruit in the Church. Throughout this month, we remember holy men and women who responded generously to God’s call with courage, humility, and unwavering trust. From the missionary charity of St. Damien of Molokai and the wisdom of St. John of Avila, to the faithful perseverance of St. Rita of Cascia, each witness points us more deeply toward Christ. May their example inspire us to trust in God’s providence, remain steadfast in faith, and grow in love for one another as one Body in Christ. 🕊️🙏

  • "Each of us has received many blessings: time to pray, talents to offer, and material resources to steward. These gifts are never meant to be stored away. They should be shared generously, so that through them others may encounter the mercy, hope, and healing that Christ freely gives. This kind of faithful stewardship is how we participate directly in the work of evangelization. It is how we can build up the Church in ways that extend far beyond what any one of us could accomplish alone." Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger 🔗 Learn more and prayerfully consider making a gift to the Catholic Services Appeal today at: givecsa.org

  • "For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” These words from our Lord remind us that our mission flows from the deepest place of our devotion. What we love, we serve. What we treasure, we offer. And when our hearts are rooted in Christ, His mission becomes our mission: to proclaim the Gospel, accompany the suffering, form disciples, and bring the light of His love to every corner of southeast Michigan. This year and every year, the Catholic Services Appeal remains an essential expression of this shared mission. Your generosity sustains the services that form our future priests, strengthen families, engage youth and young adults, accompany the poor, and bring Christ's love to those most in need. • On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, we invite you to join us in praying for the men and women God is calling to serve His Church. ⛪🙏 In the Archdiocese of Detroit, we are especially grateful for the seminarians and priests discerning and living out their vocation through Detroit Priestly Vocations. May the Lord of the harvest raise up holy priests, deacons, and consecrated religious for our local Church. And may those who hear His voice have the courage to say yes. “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” — Matthew 9:38

  • “God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world that He created, for the benefit of all and for future generations, and if we have taken care of our brothers and sisters. What will be our answer?” — Pope Leo XIV This Earth Day, we recognize creation as a beautiful gift from God, entrusted to our care. In the simple and sacred moments of daily life, we are invited to respond with gratitude and responsibility. As joyful stewards, may we protect our common home and care for one another in ways big and small, reflecting God’s love in all we do. 🌎🕊️
