Teiki Benveniste, Head of AWMS Australia, New Zealand, explores this question by sharing how structural trends—including power demand, digitalisation, AI and automation—are expanding access to de-risked, contracted assets with resilient cash flows. He also highlights Ares’ differentiated position in the market: leveraging our global scale, cross-platform sourcing and origination capabilities to access core infrastructure opportunities, and how this approach supports performance through market cycles. Markets have a physics to them. They move like a pendulum—toward extremes and back before returning to a normal state—and Newton’s third law applies. This supports that the longer valuations stay stretched, the faster and more violently they tend to snap back. In the latest edition of In the Gaps, Wanted: Dead and Alive, Ares Alternative Credit expands on this theory, what it means for private markets and what the team has learned through previous cycles.
