Everyone’s reflecting on 2025 right now, and I keep coming back to one of my favorite business moments of the year. It’s wild to think it’s already been almost 6 weeks since the MarketingProfs B2B Marketing Forum. For context: most teams plan conferences 6–12 months out. I booked ours 6 weeks in advance. 😬 As a leader, I hate creating last-minute pressure for my team because of an emergency I created. So instead of passing the stress downstream, I got in the trenches and made it happen. A few highlights from the chaos: 1️⃣ Booth design I reached out to Jonathan Horrell and when he asked about the deadline, I (nervously) said, “last week.” He turned it around in a day. Absolute wizard. 2️⃣ Speaking session slides Worked on them right up until the final 60 seconds before submission. Peak adrenaline. 3️⃣ Swag bags… omggggg I didn’t want to create stuff that ends up in the trash. So I decided on $1 bills in a sleeves with a printed label and QR code. What I didn’t anticipate: 3 days of work, a husband, a toddler, and overnight shipping to pull it off. Worth it. 😂 4️⃣In-booth swag and tees: leave it to me to order 400 shirts less than one week before the event that needed to be special labeled and shipped. Argon Agency got those shirts ordered and delivered plus they were the highlight of the booth! 5️⃣ And how exciting I grabbed a pic w/ Jay Schwedelson and Ann Handley!!! Huge shoutout to Kathleen Gaines, Kim Midgette, and the entire MarketingProfs crew for being top-tier support through it all. And yes—we’re already confirmed for 2026 (with more than 6 weeks’ notice this time, I promise). To everyone who stopped by the booth or joined my session: you were such a refreshing reminder of why I love this work. I’m excited to reconnect in Q1 with everyone who’s already booked in person brainstorms and discovery sessions. This experience also gave me a whole new level of appreciation for the incredible people I worked with in past corporate roles who made events like this look effortless. Cat Kortmann Jessica Delahunt, MBA Danielle Contin to name a few. Going from corporate to executing it myself was a wild ride—but an incredibly rewarding one. Cheers to doing hard things, doing it fast, and pulling off something you weren’t “supposed” to be able to pull off. 💪✨
