In the process of becoming a Certified B Corp, Nepal Tea Collective, PBC. uncovered essential keys to alignment. Inviting input from stakeholders across the company enabled them to more accurately measure their impact, assign accountability, and align with their mission: supporting tea-growing communities in Nepal. "As organizations scale, teams evolve, priorities shift, and institutional knowledge becomes fragmented. Without shared systems and ongoing conversations, even highly purpose-driven companies can lose clarity around how impact is defined, measured, and operationalized internally. "That is why frameworks like the B Lab Standards V2 can make such a significant difference. They provide objective methods and goals that can be shared throughout the organization, bringing everyone into alignment while considering priorities across a diverse range of stakeholders."

Lakefront Brewery's commitment to the environment and its community stretches way back. First opened in 1987, the company made headlines when it sold the US’s first certified organic beer and, later, its first government-certified gluten-free beer. In 2020, they became the first Certified B Corporation brewery in Wisconsin. Lakefront takes its commitment to diligent environmental impact measurement seriously—but they also don’t do it alone. By relying on shared industry tools, free resources like the EPA’s Energy Star Portfolio Manager, and fellow professionals in the greater B Corp community, the company can monitor its impact without reinventing the wheel.
