These are the building blocks of Tetra Tech’s DNA—our founders and the early innovative solutions they designed under the Tetra Tech name. Tetra is the Greek word for the number four, representing the company’s four original, core technical disciplines: coastal engineering, research and development, geophysics, and systems analysis. Nicholas Boratynski, along with Bernard LeMéhauté, Henri Hodara, and Donald Stern, started Tetra Tech in 1966. Known as Tetra Tech’s founding fathers, these men were each well-known in their fields. Tetra Tech’s DNA is the people who have been #LeadingWithScience and leveraging technology to solve our clients’ and communities’ most complex problems for the past 60 years.
