Our Bombardier Global 8000 redefines speed. On May 18 2021, it became the first business jet to fly supersonic in testing. Now, it’s the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde with a top speed of Mach 0.95.

After years of hard work, coming together to align felt both timely and important. At our first town hall following the close of our turnaround plan and the release of our Q1 results, President and CEO Éric Martel brought teams together to focus on what comes next for Bombardier. It was a moment to reflect on how far we have come, recognize the work accomplished across the organization, and align around a clear vision for the future. Over the past few years, Bombardier has refocused, rebuilt, and strengthened its foundation. Today, we are moving forward with discipline, confidence, and a shared understanding of what we are building together. This is a defining chapter for Bombardier.

À la suite de l’annonce d’Airbus Commercial hier concernant l’A220, deux moments ont particulièrement retenu l’attention. Évoquant Pierre Beaudoin, Tony Fernandes, PDG de Capital A et conseiller auprès d’AirAsia Aviation Group, a rendu hommage à sa vision et à sa détermination dans la concrétisation du programme C Series, déclarant : « Merci Pierre, j’espère que tu entends ceci quelque part. Merci d’avoir rendu ce rêve possible. Nous allons donner son nom à notre premier avion, en reconnaissance de ses efforts dans la réalisation de cet appareil. » Nous remercions également le très honorable Mark Carney, premier ministre du Canada, qui a souligné dans son allocution le rôle des entrepreneurs et des preneurs de risques canadiens comme Pierre Beaudoin, à l’origine du programme C Series, précurseur de l’A220. From yesterday’s Airbus Commercial A220 announcement, two moments stood out. Speaking about Pierre Beaudoin, Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A and Advisor to AirAsia Aviation Group, paid tribute to his vision and determination in bringing the C Series to life, sharing: “Thank you Pierre, I hope you hear this somewhere. Thank you for making this dream come true as well. We’re going to name our first plane after him, for his efforts in bringing this plane to life.” We also thank the Right Honourable Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, for acknowledging in his address the role of Canadian entrepreneurs and risk-takers like Pierre Beaudoin, who created the C Series program, the predecessor to today’s A220. On behalf of Pierre and the Bombardier teams, we extend our sincere thanks for these generous and highly symbolic words. We also congratulate AirAsia and Airbus on this important announcement.
