The Burning Man Regional Network is a global web of communities who carry the culture, values, and participatory spirit of Burning Man into their local worlds. These communities aren’t franchises or replicas of Black Rock City — they are locally rooted, volunteer-driven groups connected through shared principles and a commitment to participatory creativity. Regional communities create spaces for connection, collaboration, and exploration — often becoming incubators for projects ripple far beyond a single event. Today, the Regional Network spans dozens of countries and hundreds of communities, each interpreting Burning Man’s principles in ways that make sense locally. Whether through official Regional Events, small gatherings, art builds, or civic projects, the network shows that Burning Man isn’t a place you go — it’s something you practice, wherever you are. 📸: "Protea" by Annie Locke Scherer, (2024) Photo by Annie Locke Scherer

About us
The nonprofit Burning Man Project provides the essential infrastructure of Black Rock City, and works year round to bring Burning Man culture to the world and the 10 Principles to life. But it does not do this alone. Burning Man has given rise to a global network of communities that produce more than 90 official Burning Man events and create a range of initiatives based on the 10 Principles. Burning Man Project connects and empowers this creative ecosystem of builders, makers, doers, and community leaders through grants, education and training initiatives, and art and civic engagement programs like Burners Without Borders and the Fly Ranch Project.

Black Rock City has long practiced connection through participation. People with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences come together to build something shared, and in that act, resilience and relationships form. The Man Pavilion serves as a physical expression of this practice within the Burning Man community. Designed, built, and released by a community that moves beyond divisiveness, it anchors the city in presence, awe, and collective effort. When people build together, something shifts. Art creates awe. Awe changes how people see one another. And through participation as a lived practice, culture is actively shaped — together.
