Mason Vail is a 21-year-old stroke survivor and a huge Buffalo Sabres fan! He's been cheering on his favorite team in their play-off run and today, he took a moment to celebrate another team close to his heart: the stroke team at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. This reunion honored both Mason’s recovery and the stroke team’s 14th consecutive Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, the highest level of recognition for stroke care. Mason shared his story and thanked Dr. Kaylan Shastri, Dr. Jason Davies, and the entire stroke team for their lifesaving care. His journey is a powerful reminder that stroke can occur at any age! Marking the lifesaving work this team performs daily and their 14-year tradition of excellence is truly remarkable.
