It’s sea lion pupping season in San Diego! 💛 Moms and pups need plenty of space to rest, bond, and stay safe. Please remember to give all wildlife at least 20 feet of distance to protect them and keep you out of harm’s way. Here are a few things to remember when visiting La Jolla Cove 🌊: Do: • Admire sea lions from a safe distance. • Watch calmly and quietly and move slowly. • If a sea lion looks up, barks or starts moving, you're too close. Please increase your distance. Don’t: • Don't touch or feed them. Feeding or harassing marine mammals is illegal under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. • Don’t block their path to or from the water. • Do not get close to them. The best way to take a photo is to zoom in with your camera. Please follow posted signs and closures. Let the sea lions show you their personalities from a safe distance. The new Oak Park Library is officially on the way! Councilmember Henry L. Foster III, Mayor Todd Gloria and community members celebrated the groundbreaking of a new state-of-the-art library. At 20,000 square feet, the new two-story building will be about four times the size of the current library, allowing for expanded programs and services. The project is fully funded, with state library grants covering the majority of the cost. It's expected to be ready in the spring of 2028. Students from Cuyamaca Community College recently got an inside look at how the City’s wastewater system works and what a career in the water industry might look like for them! More than 40 students and faculty from the school’s Center for Water Studies 101 class visited the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant. They toured the plant, received an overview of the Metropolitan Wastewater System and participated in a question-and-answer session about the water and wastewater industries, career paths and certifications. #SanDiego #Career

In 2022, the City transitioned to Citywide Development Impact Fees to replace an outdated approach to infrastructure funding with one that’s faster and more equitable. Since then, more than $70 million in previously unallocated DIF funds have been dedicated to infrastructure projects, and another $70 million has been collected to help improve neighborhoods across the city. Sidewalks, parks, libraries and streets are now receiving this funding, helping move projects from plans to reality faster. Some of these projects include a new sidewalk in Mission Bay, the construction of Olive St. Park in Uptown and improvements to the San Ysidro Activity Center. #SanDiego #PlanningInAction
