✈️🍹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿? The aircraft taking you there today started its path long before you arrived at the gate. In fact, by the time an aircraft welcomes its first passengers on board, it usually has 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲 of research, development, testing and collaboration behind it. And the same journey is already beginning for the aircraft of tomorrow. Across Europe, researchers and industry are working today on the technologies and aircraft concepts that will change the way we fly in the years ahead. 🌍Today (𝟯𝟬 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆) marks 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, the exact moment of the year when humanity's demand for natural resources has exceeded what the Earth can regenerate throughout the year. 📈 Today, we are using resources at a rate 𝟳𝟯% 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 than Earth's ecosystems can regenerate them. This is the equivalent of living as if we had 𝟭.𝟳𝟯 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘀 – while we only have one planet to sustain us. Since 1972, Earth Overshoot Day has shifted from 𝟮𝟳 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝟯𝟬 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆, highlighting the growing pressure we place on our planet.
