About us
Every day when we walk onto a job site, we know what’s on the line. The work. Our reputations. A paycheck. But most importantly, what’s really on the line are the lives and livelihood of every person on the job site. That’s why we will do everything in our power to ensure that every one of us is safe. Our commitment to safety is a promise to ourselves, our co-workers and the families who rely and count on us. Safety Week is our opportunity to recognize and celebrate that promise to do whatever it takes to send everyone home safely every day.

Great event and moment for the industry!
We held an historic and unprecedented Construction Safety Week signature event on the National Mall with industry and government leaders, owners, designers, contractors, and over 1,000 skilled craft! It was an inspiring show of FORCE for health and safety with one shared goal: sending everyone home healthy, safe and better than when they came to work. With great energy, the event: ▪️ Highlighted Construction Safety Week’s Vision to deepen the culture of care, grounded in an absolute respect for the skilled craft, with a focus on Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs), total worker health, and the jobsite of the future. ▪️ Reviewed the 2026 Headline of “All in Together” and Theme pillars “Recognize, Respond, and Respect,” anchored in a unified call to action on High Energy, High Hazard work. ▪️ Featured Tom Sax with WEI, a 40-year industry veteran of our construction industry and an ironworker by craft, who shared a powerful personal story. ▪️ Held Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls. ▪️ Marked the Construction Safety Week alliance with OSHA to prevent serious injuries and fatalities and advance Total Worker Health to holistically improve safety, health, and wellbeing. ▪️ Heard from Jim Craig, the goalie for the 1980 U.S. Olympic mens’ hockey team who shared what is possible when a team believes in one another and rises to the moment. Thank you to our amazing speakers Assistant Secretary David Keeling, Tom Sax, Worcester Eisenbrandt, Inc., Michael Bellaman, Associated Builders and Contractors, Kevin R. Cannon, CSP, ARM, Associated General Contractors of America, Jim Craig, Gold Medal Strategies, Inc. and Ryan Novotny, P.E., Gilbane Building. #ConstructionSafetyWeek #AllInTogether #GilbaneCares #SafetyStandDown #FallProtection

Planning is critical to everything that happens on a construction project, and today’s topic is all about respecting the plan. It’s more than following instructions. It’s about creating a culture of safety where every worker feels empowered to speak up, use Stop Work Authority and collaborate openly across every phase of the project. Today we are taking part in OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, which remain one of the leading causes of worker fatalities and life-altering injuries. The Daily Topic focuses on how speaking up, slowing down, and choosing the safer action every time is what prevents falls, protects each other, and ensures everyone goes home at the end of the day.
