Do space data centers make financial sense? “Space is still very expensive…” "I still wonder if it's going to be cost-competitive to launch a whole bunch of, you know, Nvidia chips into space... " — Zach Bogue, Managing Partner of DCVC

The U.S. military’s newly established counter-UAS task force has made its first acquisition, selecting Fortem Technologies’ DroneHunter® as it begins standing up a more centralized approach to counter-drone procurement. As Janes reports, the move signals an early emphasis on fielded, operational capabilities as the task force starts shaping how C-UAS systems will be evaluated, acquired, and scaled across the military. As capital markets tighten, the industry is increasingly receptive to a belief DCVC has championed for over a decade: revolutionary technology often demands a long-term view. Simply put, we are in a hurry to do things that take time. DCVC Co-Founder and Managing Partner Zachary Bogue will join the World Economic Forum's panel "Investors and the Patience Premium" to address a critical question for the broader market: How ready is the investment community to take a more patient approach to investing in the potential of a revolutionary technology?

Australian company Q-CTRL says it has solved commercial flight GPS jamming with quantum technology, achieving what it calls “actual commercial quantum advantage” — and it's betting the long-awaited computing revolution is only two to three years away. Q-CTRL's quantum-powered navigation systems deliver GPS-like accuracy without relying on satellite signals. "This is the first time since atomic clocks in the 60s and 70s that quantum systems are really delivering a net advantage in a commercially relevant application," Michael Biercuk, Q-CTRL CEO, told Capital Brief. This year’s JPM was pretty quiet overall, but DCVC’s TechBio companies were not—with each showing massive progress: NOETIK announced that GSK had signed a $50M partnership agreement to use Noetik’s cancer foundation models to accelerate the development of drugs for non-small cell lung cancer and colorectal cancer. This deal is momentous: as far as we know, it’s the world’s first example of a pure-play AI licensing model in TechBio. And NOETIK is just getting started. Proxima—which already had billions of $ in signed contracts across Johnson & JohnsonBristol Myers Squibb, and Blueprint Medicines (now part of Sanofi)—announced an $80M seed round led by DCVC and joined by NVIDIA. The company’s proprietary AI-driven tech drives the rational discovery and design of new molecular glues and other proximity-based, small-molecule medicines. Recursion’s recently appointed CEO Najat Khan, PhD (formerly Chief R&D and Commercial Officer) took the stage to make clear that Recursion (Nasdaq: RXRX) is moving from insights to proof points, “innovating with intention, and matching bold ambition with real discipline.” She cited progress in its FAP program as an important demonstration of AI-identified biology translating into a meaningful clinical outcome. Recursion has deals across pharma worth potentially tens of billions of $. Relation announced a deal with Deerfield Management to create jointly owned companies to pursue novel drug targets. This follows on Relation’s deal last month with Novartis (to study targets for atopic diseases) worth $55M up front and up to $1.7B in milestones, and additionally royalties, along with $26M in funding co-led by DCVC, NVIDIA, and Magnetic Ventures. And in late 2024, Relation struck an agreement with GSK (toward new drugs for fibrotic disease and osteoarthritis) worth $45M up front and potentially hundreds of millions each across multiple targets. We’ve been investing in TechBio for two decades, because we see tremendous opportunity in marrying deep compute, exquisite proprietary data, and hard-earned biological insight. Who wins? Patients everywhere. Congrats to everyone on these outstanding teams! #JPMHealthcare #JPM2026

🚀 2025 was a defining year for Reality Defender. We saw rapid adoption across industries, new levels of market urgency, and were recognized by Gartner® as the Company to Beat in deepfake detection. These shifts signal what we've long believed: defending against synthetic media is no longer optional, it's foundational to enterprise security and trust. We're starting 2026 by releasing our most advanced visual detection model to date. It's purpose-built to stop high-stakes synthetic threats targeting identity verification and real-time communications. And we’re not slowing down. In the months ahead, we’ll be launching new capabilities and strategic partnerships that further raise the bar for AI threat detection. #AITrust #DeepfakeDetection #Cybersecurity #EnterpriseSecurity #RealityDefender

Recently, Gartner® recognized Reality Defender in a research note as the Company to Beat and the current frontrunner in the deepfake detection space. The market demand for this level of defense is undeniable. In just the last quarter, we have doubled our client base and are on pace to triple our revenue this year. While we are incredibly proud of this recognition, we certainly aren’t slowing down and resting on our laurels. I am proud to share that we just released our most advanced visual detection model to date, purpose-built by our whole team to intercept specific, high-stakes fraud vectors that are plaguing the enterprise. We designed it to stop synthetic IDs at the front door of KYC and identity verification processes, while also securing real-time video conferencing streams against sophisticated impersonation. Deepfake defense is no longer a "nice-to-have" insurance policy, but the foundational layer of trust for the modern internet. To our engineering team who built this standard-setting model and our partners who are deploying it: Thank you. But we are just getting started. https://lnkd.in/ejD5G5Q4
