We are proud to have signed onto a letter with more than 130 organizations urging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to stop its plan to restructure the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation at the Administration for Children and Families. Thank you to the Data Foundation for organizing this effort.
NEW: Over 130 research institutions, data organizations, companies, child welfare advocates and others are asking the Department of Health and Human Services to stop its planned restructuring of the research arm at the Administration for Children and Families. The changes, which would put much of the work under the purview of political appointees, risk undermining the credibility of the office’s research, the groups say. https://lnkd.in/erK3WRYc

The Movement Advancement Project (MAP) recently released a report on the federal sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data landscape one year into the second Trump Administration. In our latest blog, Caroline Medina, Senior Advisor for Data Policy and Strategy at MAP, answers key questions about the changes they have tracked, what these rollbacks mean for policy, research, and advocacy, and why preventing the misuse of data is more important than ever. Caroline shares, “When engaging with decision-makers, data help LGBTQ communities tell our stories and make the case for change. There’s a simple truth here: if people are not reflected in the data, they are often left out of the solutions.” 🔗 Read the full discussion here: https://lnkd.in/dpHirpww 🔗 Read MAP’s report here: https://lnkd.in/eEeaEszc
