Safe and effective AI in healthcare takes more than new technology. It requires clear governance, systems designed to reduce bias, and a strong foundation of clinical understanding. As AI adoption accelerates, these guardrails are what make it possible to use new capabilities responsibly—supporting more proactive, connected, and effective care for patients with complex needs. In this piece, Dr. Adam Weinstein, Chief Medical Information Officer at DaVita, shares his perspective on building an accountable, AI enabled future—one that protects patients and strengthens clinical decision making. Congratulations to DaVita’s 57 DAISY Award winners! Thank you for setting the standard for exceptional care. Happy #NationalNursesWeek to all the incredible nurses who bring so much heart and humanity to what they do! 💙👏🏼
Happy National Nurses Week! This week, I want to pause and celebrate all of our nurses—and especially recognize our DAISY Award winners, who are honored not just for what they do, but for how they show up every day for patients, families, and their teams. The DAISY Award is especially meaningful because it comes directly from the people whose lives are touched by our nurses. It reflects trust, compassion, and the kind of care that patients remember long after a treatment ends. To the 57 DAISY Award winners across DaVita: thank you for leading with heart and for setting the standard for what extraordinary care truly looks like. And to all of our nurses—your skill, resilience, and humanity make a difference every single day. We are grateful for you this week and every week. Please join me in celebrating our DAISY Award winners—and in thanking every nurse who continues to give so much to the people we serve. https://lnkd.in/gm7X__sq

It was inspiring to spend time at the American Diabetes Association Driving the Change in Kidney Care Summit last week in Washington D.C.! Mahesh Krishnan contributed to a discussion about the current landscape for chronic kidney disease, and Kathy Wong, RDN, FAND highlighted recent innovations in multi-disciplinary care delivery. We’re grateful for our ongoing collaboration with the ADA and the opportunity to champion their work to advance early detection and prevention. #AmericanDiabetesAssociation #KidneyDisease #ADA

DaVita Kidney Care reposted this
The momentum in kidney care was clear at this year’s American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) National Symposium, where research, case studies and lived experience came together across topics ranging from apheresis and home flex models to workforce quality of life. It was a strong example of what meaningful progress looks like, especially when evidence is tested against the realities of practice. The moments that honored leadership and legacy were just as impactful. Celebrating LeaRN recipients and recognizing Lisa Hornborg’s remarkable career were powerful reminders that our field moves forward when leaders invest as deeply in people as they do in outcomes. I’m proud of my team’s contributions and grateful to be part of a community shaping the future of nephrology nursing with clarity, rigor and heart.

A recent JAMA Internal Medicine study offers compelling validation for engaging with patients earlier in their kidney health journeys. By identifying at-risk patients sooner, clinicians can leverage protective therapies, like SGLT2 inhibitors, to slow disease progression and protect quality of life. As #DaVita continues to advance integrated kidney care, studies like this reinforce the importance of proactive interventions, supporting patients long before dialysis or a transplant becomes necessary. Swipe through to explore the study's key findings, or read more here: https://lnkd.in/dJFZBsQj #KidneyCare #ProactiveCare #SGLT2Inhibitors

It was incredible connecting with colleagues at the 2026 Renal Physicians Association Annual Meeting! We are optimistic about the future of kidney care as we focus on new ways to filter out hard-to-clear waste—often called "middle molecules." By bringing these advanced dialysis technologies to the U.S., we have a clear path to helping patients feel better and live longer. We’re proud to be leading this charge. Swipe through to see the highlights from Dr. Giullian’s presentation! 👇 #KidneyCare #HealthInnovation #RPA2026 #MiddleMolecules
