  • De Mott, Curtright & Armendariz, LLP was honored to attend the Eleventh Annual Archbishop’s Prayer Breakfast hosted by Catholic Charities San Antonio. It was a meaningful morning of fellowship, reflection, and community as we joined others across San Antonio for breakfast with Archbishop Gustavo and came together in the spirit of faith, service, and unity. • Another strong day in federal court. DMCA’s federal litigation team secured THREE grants of habeas corpus for clients held in immigration detention. These cases required strategic litigation, careful legal analysis, and urgent advocacy on behalf of our clients and their families. Three decisions. Three clients ordered released. Three families one step closer to being reunited. At DMCA, we remain committed to pursuing every legal avenue available for our clients.

  • In a recent federal matter, our team secured a significant result for a client held in immigration detention. We filed a writ of habeas corpus challenging the legal basis of the detention. After careful review, the Court granted the petition and ordered our client’s release by May 5, 2026. This outcome reflects the importance of thoughtful legal strategy, disciplined advocacy, and a deep understanding of federal litigation in the immigration context. Matters like these require coordination, precision, and a willingness to pursue relief through every available legal avenue. LITIGATION WORKS! We believe in the work we do and the people we serve.

  • A powerful result in federal court. A U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas granted our clients’ Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus, ordering their immediate release from ICE custody. Our clients who had been designated as "arriving aliens" were being held in mandatory detention without a bond hearing. The Court found that this detention violated their due process rights under the Fifth Amendment. As a result, the government was ordered to release our clients from custody immediately. At DMCA, we take on complex detention cases and deliver results when it matters most. If your loved one is detained, don’t wait. We can help.

  • When someone is detained, time matters. A habeas corpus is a legal action that allows a federal court to review whether a person’s detention is lawful. If the court determines the detention is not justified, it can order release. At De Mott, Curtright & Armendáriz (DMCA), we have experience filing habeas petitions and continue to see them approved in appropriate cases. ✔️ Reviewing prolonged detention ✔️ Seeking court intervention when needed ✔️ Guiding clients through the process Today, a federal judge ordered our client’s release. Through a habeas corpus petition, the court determined that release was appropriate. Today, our client is going home.
