Today we highlight Davian Morgan, Ed.D Dr. Davian Morgan is a proud Washington, DC native whose leadership is rooted in a deep love for learning and commitment to community. A former teacher, vice principal, and middle school principal at Ingenuity Prep, he now serves as Middle School Principal at DC International School, leading with a focus on opportunity, academic excellence, and belonging. A Teach For America DC Region ’14 alum, Founder and CEO of Black Boys Book Bunch, and current Co-Chair of Teach For America The Collective (DC Region), he is passionate about creating spaces where students and staff feel safe, seen, and set up for success. He lives by the words of James Baldwin: “The purpose of education… is to create in a person the ability to look at the world for himself, to make his own decisions.”

🎉 Celebrating Outstanding Academic Growth at DCI - District of Columbia International School! 🎉 School Leader Lab is thrilled to share some incredible news about how DCI students performed on the DC CAPE assessment. 📈 The Results Speak Volumes: -Math proficiency jumped by 8 percentage points, with students scoring 4+ -ELA proficiency increased by 7 percentage points, with students scoring 4+ -Strong gains across ALL racial and ethnic student groups Impressive growth among their economically disadvantaged students What makes these results even more meaningful? DC CAPE scores students on a 1-5 scale, where 4 means meeting expectations for college and career readiness, and 5 means exceeding them. DCI students aren't just improving—they're positioning themselves for future success. This achievement reflects the incredible hard work of their students and the dedication of DCI educators, including several SLL cohort members: Kate Finley Keeler(EdEx 2025), Erin C.
