Last week, several members of the Dragonfly Pond Works team had the opportunity to attend the Society of Lake Management Professionals Annual Summit in Florida. We’re grateful to the SLMP team and event coordinators for putting together such an educational, engaging, and fun event. From insightful sessions and meaningful conversations to reconnecting with industry friends and partners, this summit continues to be one we look forward to every year. Outside of the conference, our team also carved out time to connect and unwind at Topgolf, alongside one of our industry partners, because great work is built on strong relationships, and a little friendly competition never hurts. Thank you to everyone who made the summit such a success. We’re heading home energized, inspired, and excited to put what we learned into action. #DragonflyPondWorks #SLMP #LakeManagement #TeamCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment #Partnerships

Stormwater ponds are more than a landscape feature, they’re regulated infrastructure. Yet many HOAs in the Triad unknowingly make maintenance mistakes that lead to violations and costly repairs. Our latest blog breaks down the most common stormwater pond maintenance mistakes and how to avoid them. What you’ll learn: • Why annual inspections are required • How sediment and vegetation reduce pond performance • The risks of ignoring erosion and embankment issues • Why documentation matters for compliance Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gUjesNCw

Just because a stormwater pond looks clean doesn’t mean it’s compliant. Hidden issues like clogged outlets, erosion, failing structures, and sediment buildup often develop below the surface long before they’re visible. Regular inspections are essential to prevent costly repairs and maintain regulatory compliance. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e5KYBdWV

This corrective project shows how essential targeted repairs are to restoring full system performance. Our Triangle Corrective Team identified the underlying issues, executed a compliance repair plan, and brought this stormwater system back to proper function. With structural integrity restored and all components operating as designed, the site is now fully compliant and positioned for long-term system health. If your stormwater device is no longer meeting regulatory requirements, Dragonfly Pond Works can help bring it back into compliance quickly and professionally.

Compliance and maintenance are essential for stormwater ponds to function as designed. Sediment buildup, excess vegetation, and compromised components can reduce performance and increase flooding risks. Ongoing inspections and proactive care help safeguard surrounding homes, roads, and infrastructure. Holiday cooking means full plates, but it can also mean clogged pipes. That thick, pasty buildup you see here? It’s what happens when fats, oils, and grease (also known as FOG) go down the drain instead of into the trash. When FOG cools, it hardens inside pipes and sewer lines. Over time, it restricts flow, causes backups, and can lead to costly repairs for homeowners and major problems for entire wastewater systems and local waterways. A moment of convenience in the kitchen can turn into a big mess underground. Here’s how to keep FOG out of the pipes: Scrape it — Wipe or scrape plates, pans, and utensils into the trash before washing. Contain it — Pour leftover fats, oils, and grease into an empty jar or can. Let it solidify — Allow it to cool and harden. Toss it — Once solid, place the container in the trash. Simple steps keep your home plumbing healthy — and help protect our shared water resources. Let’s keep the holidays flowing smoothly!
