NEMA Standards are guidelines from the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) to ensure that electrical wiring devices are designed with the highest standards to ensure products can withstand specific conditions. Beware of off-brand devices that exceed standards and don’t properly fit into a wall box, a quality outlet will clearly state its NEMA configuration code. And be sure to purchase high quality material when purchasing outlets and wiring devices! To ensure safety and durability, a high-impact-resistant thermoplastic construction is necessary.
