According to a new report, fall allergy season is getting longer, leaving people and their pets with more pollen-filled, itchy days ahead(1). For dogs with allergic itch, a longer season can mean more time spent itching and scratching. Zenrelia™ (ilunocitinib tablets) is helping provide relief, having treated more than 2 million dogs(2) in 48 countries worldwide including the U.S., EU, United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, Australia and Japan. Freddie and Bogey are just two examples of the countless number of dogs who struggle with itching. In 2024 upon surrender, Freddie’s face was raw and bloody, and her skin was pink and inflamed. During the Transition Excellence Symposium and the 33rd World Buiatrics Congress, colleagues, veterinarians, researchers and industry experts came together with one shared focus: advancing ruminant health. Under the theme "From Dry-Off to Peak Performance," leading international experts shared the latest scientific insights and practical approaches related to the Vital 90 Days of dairy health. Topics ranged from successful dry-off and transition-cow management to immune activation, fresh-cow preparation, stress mitigation and innovative pheromone technology. Beyond the scientific program, the event provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen international relationships and create new connections across the global ruminant-health community. New third-party data backs up something we hear from pet owners every day: companion animal health isn't a "nice to have," it's a protected budget item. A new Harris Poll survey (conducted for the AICPA) found that 69% of US pet owners would cut their own spending before reducing spending on their pets — a number that jumps to 81% among owners 65+. Companion animal health and wellness remain an absolute priority for pet owners, even as household budgets tighten elsewhere.
