Equitas schools partner with many organizations and Equitas school staff to provide joyful, exciting, and high-quality afterschool programming. We extend deep gratitude this week to all the staff serving our Equitas students in afterschool programs. Thank you, LAUSD Board Member Griego, for visiting Equitas Academy’s flagship elementary school on Wednesday! We’re grateful for your partnership and your interest in our community schools efforts, parent volunteer opportunities, and educator training that supports restorative school communities. We appreciated the opportunity to share the joyful, “Equitastic” culture of our campus and to continue advocating together for excellence in special education, a whole-child approach, and student safety. At Equitas, community and advocacy help ensure all students can thrive.

Since 2015, Equitas Academy #3 has been building an elementary school community rooted in strong instruction and joyful learning. Last week’s ribbon cutting marked the opening of a new playground—an exciting addition that brings this commitment to life by creating a vibrant space for both learning and play. Deep gratitude to the many partners and community members whose support made this joyful space possible.

We’re reimagining what high school can be at Equitas Collegiate High School in Pico-Union. Through our Secondary School Redesign Project, supported by Silicon Schools Fund and in partnership with Transcend, we’re working with students, families, and educators to build a more intentional, innovative experience aligned to the Equitas mission and vision. https://lnkd.in/gbnzJYeM

Big news for the Orcas at Equitas Academy #3! 🐋 Since the school was founded in 2015, our students and staff have been dreaming of a playground of their own. After years of persistence and overcoming many challenges, that vision is finally coming to life. We’re officially breaking ground on the Equitas #3 Elementary playground! 2026 marks 100 years since Black History Month commemorations began in the United States. This milestone invites both reflection and renewed commitment. We honor the enduring contributions, leadership, and lived experiences of Black Americans who have shaped this nation and continue to shape our communities today. At Equitas, we commemorate Black History Month with deep gratitude for the legacies of Black scholars, families, educators, and leaders whose impact is woven into our schools and classrooms. We remain committed not only to honoring history, but to uplifting the present-day brilliance, realities, and experiences of Black students, staff, and families across our community. #BlackHistoryMonth #Community
