  • We launched a Substack, and learned a few things along the way. 💡 Meet britegeist, Eventbrite’s new monthly Substack and snapshot of offline culture, created and edited by Page Dudley and powered by our first-party data. Each issue explores the trends, searches, and experiences giving us a closer look at what’s gaining momentum and shaping how people gather. Bringing britegeist to life meant thinking through what Eventbrite could uniquely bring to the conversation, building a clear editorial identity, and creating something readers would want to come back to each month. With our first issue officially live, we’re sharing a few of the lessons we learned along the way in our guide to launching a Substack for your brand. Read Issue 01 and subscribe to britegeist, link in comments 🧡

  • Twenty-five years after September 11th, remembrance is taking on a new shape. Today, more than 50,000 volunteers across 51 cities are packing 18 million meals for families facing food insecurity, part of what 9/11 Day is calling the largest day of service in American history. A new volunteer hub, built with Eventbrite, is helping people find and join projects like these — not just today, but year-round. However you choose to honor today, there's a place for you to show up. Find a project near you.

Couture runways and toddler raves, in the same breath. Searches for “fashion week” on Eventbrite jumped 83% last month ahead of the Big Four in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. U.S. attendance at baby and toddler raves? Up 183% in 2025. I see these bizarre, fascinating, and telling signals every day, and there are too many good ones to keep to myself. So I'm changing that. Meet britegeist (zeitgeist + Eventbrite): a data-driven monthly newsletter on the IRL trends shaping culture, written by me. For organizers, it’s an insider’s guide to what’s resonating. For brands, experiential marketers, and journalists, it’s an early read on where attention and spend are moving. And if you’re the friend your group chat relies on for plans, consider it your monthly inspo. Building britegeist has been one of the highlights of my career, and I’m so excited to share it with you. Issue 01 is live (link in the comments). Subscribe for a monthly peek inside the cultural zeitgeist, just a little brighter.

A great example of why brands don’t always need to build the room. Sometimes the smarter move is to enter one that’s already full. E.l.f. just did it at the Minnesota State Fair, becoming the first beauty brand to activate there in at least 20 years. Nearly 64,000 people visited its pop-up over four days, spending an average of eight minutes with the brand. Levi’s is doing it at the State Fair of Texas, where it is creating a custom pair of 501s for Big Tex. This is the power of activating within established events. The audience, community and energy are already there. When a brand adds something genuinely relevant, it becomes part of an experience people already care about. At Eventbrite, we see that same opportunity at scale: nearly five million events each year and 20 million people gathering every month. That’s a lot of full rooms, and a huge opportunity for brands ready to join them. https://lnkd.in/ePd2Yp6E

In my role at Eventbrite, I get to build close relationships with some of the most successful event organizers in the world. That gives me a front row seat to how they think, how they design experiences and what has helped them build lasting communities. That perspective spans the full spectrum, from individuals who are deeply passionate about bringing people together to enterprise brands using events as a meaningful part of their marketing strategy. I was recently interviewed by HubSpot Media’s Marketing Against the Grain about what I’ve learned from both sides. A few of the tips I shared: 1) When launching an event, start with the outcome, not the occasion. Before choosing the venue, speakers or food, decide what you want to happen because the event exists. 2) Don’t confuse capacity with demand. A room of 75 of the right people can be far more valuable than a room of 600 people who aren’t genuinely engaged. 3) Know who shouldn’t be there. The goal isn’t to make an event feel like it’s for everyone; it’s to make the right people feel like it was created specifically for them. 4) Think like a host, not an advertiser. Give people opportunities to participate, contribute and build relationships, not just sit and watch. 5) Design for what happens next. A full room may look like success, but the real measure is what attendees do, feel or remember after they leave. Thank you to Sonal Nain and the Marketing Against the Grain team for the thoughtful feature. More than 100 million Americans alive today are too young to have a personal memory of September 11, 2001. As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of the attacks, 9/11 Day aims to unite tens of millions of Americans in what it believes will be the single largest day of doing good in American history. The effort is helping a new generation carry forward the unity and spirit of service that brought people together across the country in the aftermath of the attacks. More than 50,000 volunteers across 51 cities are expected to pack 18 million meals for families facing food insecurity, alongside thousands of other ways to give back nationwide. Powered by Eventbrite's API, 9/11 Day’s new volunteer hub brings service opportunities into one searchable directory, making it easier to find a local project, sign up, or create an effort of your own. • The hot offline summer allegations are officially backed by data. 📵☀️ Jessica Stillman, from Inc. Magazine, digs into the analog renaissance, featuring Eventbrite data showing a major rise in the kinds of IRL experiences that get us off our phones and back together: picnics, potlucks, farmers markets, block parties, and more. Phone-free events are part of the shift too, growing 567% globally, with attendance in the U.S. jumping 913%. Maybe 2026 really is bringing back a little 1996 energy.
