It's time for #PeopleBehindThePower and we're excited to introduce Thomas! As a Transmission Engineering Design Supervisor, Thomas has been a valued part of the FirstEnergy team for 8 years. In his role, he helps plan and estimate the cost and scope of projects from the very beginning, using specialized tools to make sure everything is accurate and consistent across the company. He plays a key role in shaping projects from the very beginning, supporting early development and helping build a strong foundation for success. Thomas also enjoys sharing his expertise by teaching estimating techniques to partners, helping others grow their skills and confidence. “What I love most is that every day brings something different and I get the unique opportunity to see the very beginning of nearly every project FirstEnergy is working on.” Thank you for all you do Thomas!

With yesterday being #MothersDay, we're excited to feature one of the many proud moms on our team, Christie! Christie has been with FirstEnergy for three years and works as an Administrative Technician in our IT Network group. She helps keep teams connected and operations running smoothly. Christie shares: “I'm someone people come to for technology help. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll find someone who does. I enjoy helping others and learning about different areas of the company!” Outside of work, Christie loves spending time with her family — especially watching her son play college baseball, a favorite hobby that’s especially meaningful this time of year. ⚾💐 #PeopleBehindThePower

Meet Megan! Megan has been with FirstEnergy for 11 years and works as an Associate Business Analyst who supports training programs. From managing curriculums and budgets to invoices and reports, she truly values the work she does. She loves being able to collaborate with people while continuing to grow and challenge herself. This week is #EarthDay and it's a perfect time to introduce Kelsey, our Environmental Scientist who has been making a difference with us for 6 years! One of Kelsey’s favorite projects has been working on FirstEnergy's Avian Protection Program — a perfect match for her passion working with birds. 🐦💚 “I love that I was given the opportunity to work on our Avian Protection Program. As a bird nerd, it brings me a lot of joy to work towards better solutions for protecting avian species from the detriments of electric utility infrastructure.” Fun fact: Kelsey’s favorite book is Reason for Hope by Jane Goodall and Phillip Berman, a fitting read for someone dedicated to protecting our planet! #PeopleBehindThePower

Today's #PeopleBehindThePower is Seth! Seth is celebrating 24 years with FirstEnergy and plays a key part in supporting daily operations as a Work Management Supervisor. Seth's role is critical to the day-to-day operations at local service centers where he manages the planning and scheduling of work to align with deadlines. What Seth values most about his time at FirstEnergy is the lasting connections he’s made: “The friendships I have developed over the years, both internal and external, are what I most enjoy about working for FirstEnergy.” Thank you, Seth, for your dedication and 24 years of service!

Recently, some of our leaders attended the kickoff celebration for the 35th annual Harvest for Hunger Campaign! The event highlighted campaign updates and ways to get involved in the ongoing effort to fight hunger across 21 counties in northeast Ohio. Harvest for Hunger is a joint initiative of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.
