  • New York cannabis continues to build momentum 📈 David Belsky shares his thoughts after spending time at the Revelry Buyers Club in Hudson, where operators, brands, retailers, and teams from across the country came together around one of the industry’s fastest-growing markets. ON THE REVEL #newyorkcannabis #cannabisindustry

Just spent an intense 36 hours in Hudson, New York, at the Buyers Club event. The New York market currently feels abundant, with most folks confidently focused on opportunities ahead. Significant brand activations aimed to capture the attention of the 1,100 registered retail buyers in attendance. Despite the busy atmosphere, there was ample space to navigate. New York State's vast geography, coupled with the dominance of mom-and-pop retail stores, makes events like this an excellent opportunity for real business transactions. New retailers are opening weekly, allowing new brands to make a notable impact. A huge shout out to all the dedicated individuals in the booths working hard—so many impressive people. I felt fortunate to participate in this community and proud of the work the FlowerHire team has accomplished in the New York market so far. We have happy clients and candidates, making impactful hires and fostering genuine gratitude. Hearing testimonials about my team's influence on lives, relationships, and businesses truly resonates, especially as the CEO of a remote, distributed, and highly experienced team. The event was filled with familiar faces, including individuals from the West Coast who are all in on New York, and clients from Massachusetts, Colorado, and Florida, all excited to pursue their dreams. Local brands and out-of-state companies are actively orchestrating their strategies. Right now is special. There is an abundance in this market, and it has the potential to compete with California by this time next year.

  • Event season is in full swing. From New York to Missouri to Chicago, David Belsky will be on the road over the next few weeks connecting with operators, brands, investors, HR leaders, and people building across the industry. If you’ll be at any of these stops, be sure to say hello! #cannabisevents

Spring is full on in the world and what that means for the cannabis industry is that it is event season. A time to get out there in the world and make it happen. These are all events I will be at before Summer. Who am I going to see? 😊 This week I will be heading to Hudson, NY for ON THE REVEL's Buyer's Club. This sold out event features brands & retailers from New York 's exploding supply chain. 😊 Then its off to Kansas City for MoCannTrade (Missouri Cannabis Trade Association) Trade's q2 member meetup. Missouri has been a great market the last few years and this event brings the operators to one place. MoCann is the biggest market without a strong public MSO presence so still flies under the radar a bit. 😊 Then it is Chicago for the IgniteIt Cannabis team 's flagship capital markets conference. There is a high concentration of real people getting things done at this event and it is worth going to get a pulse and do business. 😊 The FlowerHire Midwest HR Leadership Summit is the day after IgniteIT in Chicago's West Loop. West Loop, so hot right now. HR leaders from scores of cannabis operators will be present for year 2 of this Summit. Not to mention the entire FlowerHire team.

  • The cannabis industry has gone through a massive amount of change over the past few years. Markets have matured. Operators have adapted. And through all the ups and downs, something important has quietly taken shape: experience. Today, there’s a deeper bench of cannabis professionals than ever before: people who’ve worked through multiple market cycles and understand what it actually takes to build sustainable businesses in this industry. At the same time, collaboration, operational discipline, and smarter hiring practices have all become a much bigger part of the conversation. What do you think the biggest positive shift in cannabis over the past few years? #cannabisindustry

🔥 HOT CANDIDATE ALERT — FLORIDA CANNABIS OPERATORS 🔥 If you’re building, scaling, or restructuring a cannabis operation in Florida, this is the kind of leadership talent that rarely hits the market. I’m working with an executive-level operator who has: 🌱 Led vertically integrated cannabis operations exceeding $120M+ in annual revenue 📈 Managed full P&L oversight across cultivation, manufacturing, retail, supply chain, and commercial strategy 👥 Directed teams of 800+ employees across highly regulated multi-site operations 💰 Identified and eliminated $3M+ in operating expenses while improving efficiency and execution 🚀 Helped launch and scale operations in emerging cannabis markets from the ground up 🏆 Played a leadership role in one of the East Coast’s earliest adult-use cannabis rollouts What stands out most? This leader combines startup grit with enterprise-level operational discipline. Strong cross-functional leadership, high accountability standards, and the ability to align teams fast in complex, high-growth environments. Perfect fit for: ✔️ Expanding MSOs ✔️ New Florida entrants ✔️ Operators preparing for adult-use growth ✔️ Companies needing operational turnaround or scalable infrastructure This is not a “maintenance mode” operator - this is a builder. Message me directly for details before someone else hires him first. 🌿 FlowerHire

  • If you know Alan, you know how deeply he cares about #MichiganCannabis and the community being built within the market. Excited to see him serving as a judge and Community Supporter for this year’s Best in Grass. Michigan continues to be one of the most resilient and passionate cannabis markets in the country, and it’s great seeing the people and brands behind it get recognized.

I am honored and ECSTATIC to be chosen as a Community Supporter and Judge for the third annual Best in Grass competition here in Michigan. As a proud Michigander, it's been tough at times to watch what's happened over the past couple of years to the Michigan Cannabis market with price compression, mass recalls, and new taxes making it tougher every day for the hard-working and talented cannabis workers to operate and scale the way they should be able to in one of the country's top cannabis markets. But there is a reason the word "GRIT" is commonly used to describe our state and our people (and our football team 🦁 ), and it's time to showcase the work and time that's been put in by our community and the top notch products they continue to cultivate and produce day in and day out for the cannabis connoisseurs and every day consumers around this beautiful Mitten State. Mark Kazinec and his team have cultivated something truly special with this competition and award show. The ability they have to assemble the top brands and products into these Kits, and the authenticity of every day consumers from around the state being able to give real feedback that's not bought behind closed doors is what set's this team and competition apart from the rest. Kits go live TOMORROW. Can't wait to pick mine up and get in the weeds ( 😎 ) of whatever category is chosen for me. There are so many great brands here in Michigan that i've been wanting to try and i'm excited to see who's bringing the heat 🔥 🌳 😤 If you're interested in being a judge this year be sure to get to your local supporting dispensary as soon as they open tomorrow for your chance to have your voice heard and your favorite brands recognized with what is in my opinion a trophy that is rivaled only by the Stanley Cup. Now if only our beloved Red Wings could get back to winning those... Happy Judging!

  • Different markets. Different dynamics. Same takeaway: the cannabis industry continues to evolve. David Belsky reflects on recent visits to Boston and Ohio and the signals he’s seeing from two very different but steadily developing markets. #cannabismarkets #cannabisindustry

Two weeks, two different states, and a shared positive sentiment. Recently, I traveled to Boston for NECANN, where I served as the MC for a meetup of HR leaders in the cannabis industry, and to Cincinnati for IgniteIT. Both events successfully brought together real people to foster business connections. Notably, both states appeared to be in a better position than during my last visit in 2025. In Boston, the mood remained upbeat despite the recent rescheduling announcement. While it didn't spark overwhelming enthusiasm, the discussions surrounding Bill H.3530 generated significant positivity. This bill raised the daily purchase limit, increased the number of stores under single ownership to six, and allowed for enhanced marketing efforts. The market seems to have stabilized after years of challenges, with operators who have adapted to leaner operations and steady cash flow thriving. It's impressive to see many original vertical medical operators still going strong, maintaining that local, small business feel. Meanwhile, some multi-state operators have also found success in Massachusetts, generating substantial wholesale revenue. The craft cannabis scene remains vibrant, supported by a strong "homegrow" culture. Additionally, the growth of neighboring markets from New York to Maine has created opportunities for regional multi-state operators, with many brands focusing along the I-95 corridor. However, a looming ballot initiative to repeal the entire adult-use program adds an element of uncertainty. In Ohio, the positivity stemmed from different developments. Progress in the cannabis sector has been slow, but more adult-use retail doors are finally opening. Retailers aiming for six or more stores are nearing that goal, with revenues from the state’s adult-use program steadily increasing. The state has taken action against the hemp industry, with enforcement of the hemp ban beginning to take shape. Customers are also benefiting from a wider range of available products, including the introduction of prerolls. Cincinnati's proximity to Kentucky added excitement to the event, as Kentucky is actively expanding its market, with significant investments pouring into the state. Next up, New York City

  • For years, cannabis companies were building while learning in real time. Now, something has changed. The industry has quietly developed a deep bench of experienced operators, finance leaders, HR professionals, marketers, cultivators, retailers, and executives who understand what it actually takes to build sustainable cannabis businesses. And as we all know - in cannabis, it takes a village. It takes people who stayed through the hard chapters. People who learned through growth, contraction, and stabilization. People who built the playbooks while the industry matured around them. That’s why we believe the “Golden Age” of hiring in cannabis is already here... if you know where to look. In our latest blog, David Belsky breaks down: 🌿 Why cannabis hiring has fundamentally changed 🌿 How the industry matured operationally 🌿 Why experienced talent is more accessible than ever 🌿 And what separates the companies that will win the next era of cannabis Read the full blog below ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/drn5NauD #cannabisjobs #cannabisindustry #cannabishr
