Indonesia's PDP Law sets a high bar. • Criminal penalties reach up to six years imprisonment and IDR 6 billion in fines for intentional violations. • Administrative fines can hit 2% of annual revenue. • And the 72-hour breach notification requirement applies to both data controllers and processors. If your organization handles data belonging to individuals in Indonesia, this law applies to you, regardless of where you're based. Fortra's breakdown of Indonesia's PDP Law is now live. Learn what the law requires and where organizations need to act: https://lnkd.in/dYgBKYPm

Your EDR covers the endpoint. Your identity team covers access governance. But who owns the IDE extension that just installed a Zig-compiled binary with full OS access? Fortra's Josh Taylor on why developer environment security doesn't fit neatly into any existing team structure, and why that exposure is now being actively exploited. We adopted the cloud without fully thinking through security. The internet too. GenAI gives us a rare chance to get ahead of that pattern. In this on-demand webinar, Rohit Dhamankar, VP of Product Strategy at Fortra, walks through a framework built for the way organizations use AI today — and the specific controls that need to be in place at each maturity level before threats outpace adoption. If your organization processes personal data in India, 2026 is the year to get compliant. India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act regulatory oversight is underway. And yet 76% of organizations cite limited expertise, while nearly 80% haven't updated their privacy policies or governance frameworks. Our latest blog covers the key features of the Act, where enterprise readiness currently stands, and the steps to start operationalizing compliance now. https://lnkd.in/dffvwcMf

The security community's default stance on AI is skepticism. Troy Hunt's is a little more nuanced than that. In a recent conversation with Dan Raywood, Troy breaks down how he's actually using AI at Have I Been Pwned as a tightly scoped, heavily supervised junior analyst named Bruce. The setup is instructive: limited API keys, no identity sharing, an approve-or-deny queue, and ongoing training when Bruce the Bot gets it wrong. The takeaway for security teams isn't "don't use AI." It's "don't give AI more rope than you'd give a new hire on day one." Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/dxaV_Jf2

AI brought more vulnerability exposure to May's Patch Tuesday. 6% of this month's 137 CVEs were AI-based, with seven affecting Copilot and Azure AI Foundry. Fortra's Tyler Reguly in Dark Reading: "What other instances of AI might be in use in your organization that are not backed by a company with a regular update schedule like Microsoft?"
