SPPH researchers have been awarded more than $5.1 million in federal funding through the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Project Grant: Spring 2026 competition. We're grateful to RBC Foundation for their generous $350,000 contribution in support of Foundry Vancouver-Downtown's project. This donation will help fund the modernization of the building's existing elevator, transforming it into a fully accessible passenger elevator within Foundry's new integrated youth services centre at 1220 Homer Street. By removing physical barriers and improving access throughout the building, this project will help create a more welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative space for young people ages 12 to 24 and their families. It reflects a shared commitment to creating an experience where youth feel supported from the moment they walk through the door and can connect with free, integrated mental health, substance use health, physical health, peer support, education, employment, and community services with dignity, confidence, and independence. Congratulations to Foundry on 10 years of transforming how young people across British Columbia access health and wellness services. Over the past decade, Foundry has grown from a proof of concept into a province-wide network and an important model for Integrated Youth Services in Canada. Today, Foundry has 19 centres open, 16 more in development, and a provincial virtual service available anywhere in BC. In 2024–25 alone, more than 17,000 youth walked through Foundry’s doors over 83,000 times, seeking support, community and connection. This milestone reflects the strength of a model built with and for young people, and the impact that is possible when health, social, community, government and philanthropic partners work together to make support easier to find and access. The Graham Boeckh Foundation is proud to have supported Foundry from its earliest days, working alongside the Government of British Columbia and Steve Mathias to help advance its creation and first phase.
