Last week I was on a call with a franchise brand. He told me they’ve tripled their content output this year. All AI talking heads. The works. And their engagement is down. I sent him a study that came out last week. 460 people. All of them already use AI. 78% said they trust videos with real humans more than AI. 36% said AI video makes them trust the brand less. 88% said trust now matters as much as price. He went quiet. Then he said, “so we’re making more videos to be trusted less.” Yeah. That’s exactly it. The researchers had two words for the fix: use your face. Founders. Franchisees. Customers. Staff. People can feel when there’s no human in a video. They don’t know why. They just scroll past. Show your faces. Let’s start a new hashtag #ShowYourFace. Better yet- Show your STORY.
