Mo Jalaly, ispace-U.S.'s director of quality and mission assurance, joined a panel on international cooperation in space this week at WorldDenver's New Frontiers Diplomacy Forum. He shared the stage with Rita P. of Caribou Thunder LLC and Clare Martin of Astroscale U.S., moderated by Peter Martinez of the Secure World Foundation, to discuss where cross-border collaboration in space is working and where it isn't. Mo's take: Like aviation, the lunar economy scales on shared infrastructure and shared rules. Industry and governments need to work together on practical frameworks that can evolve as the industry matures. That common foundation can spur even greater innovation in the lunar economy.

📣 Announcement: ispace and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have signed a contract for launch and transportation services for our Mission 3 ULTRA lunar lander aboard MHI’s H3 rocket, currently scheduled for 2028! 🚀🌕 The mission represent the first time a Japanese-made lunar lander and a Japanese-made rocket will work in tandem, taking a groundbreaking step in extending Japan’s space capabilities and industry to the Moon, symbolizing a new era of lunar exploration. By combining Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' proven launch capabilities with ispace's lunar transportation expertise, this cooperation represents an important step toward realizing a commercial lunar transportation system and expanding Japan’s space industry infrastructure. Together, engineers from ispace-U.S. and Japan completed major Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) milestones for the global design of the ULTRA Structural Model (SM).
