  • GLP-1s aren’t a passing trend—they’re a permanent shift in how chronic disease is treated. But the cost curve is accelerating faster than traditional coverage models can handle. Employers now face a choice: absorb unpredictable pharmacy spend, restrict access, or adopt a new model designed for scale. This article highlights: • Why GLP-1 costs are rising so fast • What happens if employers do nothing • How a defined-contribution model creates predictable, sustainable access—without compromising outcomes Read how employers can finally take control of GLP-1 costs: https://hubs.la/Q03_-jyj0

  • Calibrate = healthier employees and reduced long-term metabolic risk. Across our employer-sponsored audience, Calibrate’s obesity solution didn’t just reduce weight, it improved metabolic markers. Among members who entered the program with elevated triglycerides, 70% moved from abnormal to normal levels within one year.

I’m honored to share that I recently joined Calibrate. I wasn’t looking to add to my plate, but when Dawn Halkuff and Rob Rebak reached out, I immediately saw the potential. I’d been following the company for years. The pioneering, seamless clinical + coaching framework was built thoughtfully - from the start - to optimize weight care. This has led to exceptional data on weight loss and cardiometabolic biomarker improvements. Once I started internal meetings though, and digging into some of the latest results (coming soon!), the insights were even more compelling - potentially shifting how we may envision care models of the future. How are these outcomes possible? It’s the fully integrated, evidence-based Calibrate program: the highest quality physician led care paired with nutrition education that truly complements treatment, along with live coaching support for emotional and physical wellbeing. First-gen GLP-1s have been around for 2 decades, while for semaglutide it has been 8 years already! But to me this space is still so early, and there are many people whose lives we haven’t yet touched. For all these reasons, I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Calibrate’s mission—supporting the best health outcomes, and more vibrant lives. #ObesityMedicine #HealthcareInnovation #MetabolicHealth

  • Did you know? Calibrate’s obesity solution combining clinical care with ongoing coaching has been shown to reverse diabetes risk. Among members who started the program with abnormal HbA1c levels (diabetes or prediabetes), 80% reached normal (normoglycemic) status within one year. We were proud to share these findings at ObesityWeek 2025 last fall.

  • Weight loss is only part of the Calibrate outcome story. Analysis conducted by our research team for ObesityWeek 2025 shows that, at 12 months, Calibrate members experienced meaningful reductions in waist circumference. This is significant because waist circumference is a clinically important indicator of underlying health, specifically of visceral fat, which is linked to a higher risk of developing metabolic conditions like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. For employers, these are the kinds of health improvements that matter for long-term risk and cost management. More details to come in our 2026 Results Report, releasing in Q1. 👀

As promised, here’s my 2025 year in review and a look ahead to what 2026 will reward and expose. As I close out my first year at Calibrate, I’ve had a front-row seat to how quickly the GLP-1 and obesity care market evolved and where the real fault lines now sit. Last year was a turning point for GLP-1s and obesity care. Access exploded. Prices fractured. New entrants flooded the market. And many models that looked strong on the surface began to show structural cracks underneath. What became clear in 2025: Affordability alone is not cost control. Lower prices do not automatically mean lower spend. And bolting GLP-1s onto an existing platform is not the same as owning obesity care. In the article, I walk through: • What 2025 actually revealed about the GLP-1 market • Why falling prices make utilization and clinical ownership more important, not less • How transparency, manufacturer pricing, and new entrants are reshaping economics • Why obesity-first, clinically led models are starting to separate from access-first solutions 2026 will reward clarity, accountability, and durability. It will be harder for surface-level solutions to hide behind access alone. Curious how others are thinking about GLP-1 strategy, cost predictability, and total cost of care heading into 2026. Would love to hear what you’re seeing. #TotalRewards #EmployerBenefits #HealthcareCosts #GLP1 #BenefitsStrategy

  • At ObesityWeek 2025, Kaelen Medeiros presented new data that reinforces what we believe matters most in obesity care: results that last. Using a partial 2024–2025 dataset from members in employer-sponsored programs, Calibrate demonstrated sustained, year-over-year weight loss. Those outcomes aren’t the result of medication alone. They’re built through a combination of synchronous clinician visits, live 1:1 coaching and proprietary lifestyle content designed to support lasting behavior change. Curious about the full dataset? Our 2026 Results Report will be released in Q1.

  • 🎉 As the year comes to a close, we’re grateful for the employers, partners, clinicians, and teams working alongside us to improve metabolic health and expand access to clinically appropriate obesity care. This year reinforced an important truth: meaningful outcomes happen when evidence-based medicine is paired with structured behavioral support and long-term care. 💪 Thank you for the trust, collaboration, and shared commitment to better health. We look forward to continuing this work together in the year ahead. Wishing you a healthy, restful holiday season and a strong start to the new year. ☃️ 🎇 🎊 ~ The Calibrate Health Team #MetabolicHealth #EmployerHealth #DigitalHealth #HealthcareLeadership #CalibrateHealth

  • We welcome the new World Health Organization guideline endorsing comprehensive behavioral and lifestyle management as part of GLP-1 treatment for obesity care. At Calibrate, this reinforces what we’ve believed from day one: GLP-1 medications work, but only when paired with structured behavior-change, clinical oversight, and sustainable care. As the guideline makes clear, treatment alone isn’t enough. The best outcomes happen in the context of holistic care: lifestyle support, coaching, monitoring, and ongoing guidance. We’re proud to lead in delivering exactly that, evidence-based GLP-1 therapy, plus personalized coaching and a full metabolic-health program designed to deliver lasting results for members and long-term value for employers. This new global standard further validates our mission: improving population metabolic health through clinically rigorous, sustainable, accessible care. • World Health Organization GLP-1 Guideline aligns with Calibrate's core mission.
  • Cold weather, shorter days, and hectic holiday schedules can make metabolic health harder to maintain. For many employees, winter brings changes in routine, increased stress, and higher risk of chronic-condition flare-ups. Supporting whole-body health during this season helps employees stay energized, balanced, and resilient—both at work and at home. #MetabolicHealth #WorkforceWellbeing #EmployeeWellness #WinterHealth #ColdWeatherCare #ObesityCare
