Congratulations to the team at Kindred Hospital Paramount, on earning the ScionHealth National Quality Strategy’s Overall Platinum Award – the company’s highest award for quality – for the second consecutive year! Long-term acute care hospitals (LTCHs or LTACHs) such as Kindred Hospitals play a critical role in caring for some of our nation’s sickest and most medically complex patients. To help inform policy discussions in Congress about improving access to long-term acute care and supporting the patients who need it, Kindred worked with other industry stakeholders to develop new LTCH Reform Policy Principles. Kindred Hospital Indianapolis, Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North, and our parent company, ScionHealth, were well-represented with a big group of leaders and team members over the weekend at the American Lung Association in Indiana's hugely successful Evening of Promise Gala, which raised money for the ALA's fight against lung diseases that affect thousands of Hoosier families each year. The ScionHealth Foundation supported the event, and Nakia Tremble, ScionHealth's SVP of Central Region Specialty Hospital Operations and the Board Chair of ALA in Indiana, was a featured speaker. As hospitals specializing in the treatment of complex respiratory conditions, we're so proud of Nakia's leadership and advocacy for the ALA and the advancement of lung health. Congratulations to the ALA, and thank you to everyone who supported the Gala!

Leaders from Kindred Hospital Indianapolis and Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North hiked up 47(!) flights of stairs of the Salesforce Tower on March 7 in support of the American Lung Association in Indiana's Fight for Air Climb. The 2026 Indy climb has raised more than $236,000 to help the ALA's work to advance lung health. Thank you to U.S. Rep. Morgan McGarvey, left, who represents Louisville, Kentucky, for visiting Kindred Hospital Louisville Friday morning to learn more about the specialty care we provide to medically complex patients recovering from serious injury or illness. The Congressman received a tour from Kindred Hospitals of Louisville Market CEO, Timothy Phoenix, right, and they discussed public policy issues related to long-term acute care hospitals and supporting patients. We’re grateful to ScionHealth VP of Policy and Government Affairs Steve Albrecht and Rep. McGarvey’s staff for helping set up this visit.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” — Martin Luther King Jr. On this MLK Jr. Day, we reflect on the importance of compassion, service, and putting others first — values that continue to guide the care we provide every day.
