There is a common belief in our culture that getting older means stepping back. From work. From relevance. From contribution. After more than 65 years in senior living, Koelsch Communities has discovered something different: people still want to matter. Our Built for Good program was created to reflect this truth. In our communities, residents are not just keeping busy. They are packing meals, mentoring students, supporting new families, comforting strangers, and strengthening their neighborhoods. They do this not because they are asked to, but because they have the structure and support to do what they have always done. Throughout April, in honor of National Volunteer Month, we will show what purpose looks like when it is part of a community's design. Purpose does not retire, and neither does impact.
