Last week, John Rivers III and I had the pleasure of attending the 22nd Annual Joint Utility Reception representing Leap Group & (spark) as a certified diversity supplier. It was an energizing evening connecting with Louisville’s utility leaders and witnessing firsthand their commitment to investing in local and diverse partners who help move our city forward. Over the past year, I’ve been focused on building meaningful partnerships with the City of Louisville and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, using our work not just to deliver results, but to contribute to the strength and growth of the community we get to call home. Late to bringing the news to LinkedIn, but I have to highlight the completion of last year's labor of love (+sweat +tears). One of my big goals since being appointed Public Information Officer at Cheltenham Township was to unify the Township under one brand identity - a shared logo, color codes, fonts. A brand is the image of an entity - over time, it evokes a unique feel, a familiarity. It verifies an organization's authenticity. I am so proud that with the partnership of Leap Group, I was able to achieve this goal in 2025, and I think we walked away with better than we could have expected! We were able to kick off 2026 implementing the new brand - a dynamic suite of logos and a vibrant palette to go with the new tagline "Rich History. Vibrant Future." Small Town Living. Community Driven! I'm thrilled to share that Leap Group was selected by the City of Macomb to lead their citywide marketing initiative, and I couldn't be more proud of the team that made it happen. 🎉 Our team recently went to Macomb. Walked the Square. Talked to residents, business owners, and city stakeholders. Because you can't tell a city's story until you understand it. What we found? A place that's harder to define than it is to love. Macomb, IL is a small Midwest town with a genuinely unique footprint. It's the birthplace of Monopoly (yes, really), home to civil rights trailblazer C.T. Vivian, has an historic downtown Square full of hyper-local businesses, and a community where people still actually know their neighbors. It's not Chicago. It's not Peoria. But it doesn't need to be. That's the story we get to help tell, and I can't wait to see it come to life. Huge shoutout to Walter Harris, Madison Asher Woods, Laura Valentine, Kaity Hilton, Heather Rumsey, and John Rivers III for doing the deep discovery work and for helping to make this partnership possible.
