  • Recovering from a crazy week at CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium): great conversations, back-to-back demos, and a lot of major AI announcements. While the big headlines this week were about what AI can do without humans in the loop, our announcement went in the other direction. On Tuesday, we launched AI assistance across the Legal.io Enterprise Platform, embedded natively into rate benchmarking, panel management, and talent sourcing. We believe people come first. Rather than automating their work, we’re using AI to empower legal professionals to make more informed procurement decisions with better data and sharper insights. The human element is the most important part of this space, and we’re going to keep betting on it.

  • The energy at CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) this week has been a lot to keep up with, in the best possible way. We started Monday with a dinner at Tre Dita that spilled over into a second room, then teamed up with Wolters Kluwer the next night to host a happy hour at Skydeck that drew 100+ people. Things haven’t slowed down on the floor either: great conversations, demos running back-to-back, and a lot of familiar faces from the legal ops community. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and to Wolters Kluwer for an unforgettable night above the Chicago skyline!

      +1
  • Today, AI assistance goes live across Legal.io’s Enterprise Platform. Embedded natively inside rate benchmarking, panel management, and talent sourcing, in-house legal teams can now: • Benchmark rates in seconds. Ask “How does this firm’s proposed partner rate compare to similar firms on my panel and in the broader market?” and get an answer grounded in Legal.io’s Rate Benchmarking data. • Measure panel performance across firm, geography, practice area, and cost — surfacing which firms are delivering value and where gaps exist. • Move faster on sourcing decisions by combining internal spend history with external market data to recommend whether a matter belongs with panel counsel, an ALSP, or flexible talent from the marketplace. • Get a real handle on rates by surfacing trends, flagging anomalies, and translating rate data into narratives legal ops leaders can share with the business. As our CEO, Pieter Gunst, put it: “Our AI assistant is built for the real questions legal operations leaders are asking every day. By embedding AI directly into the Enterprise Platform, we’re letting customers turn their own data into decisions in minutes instead of weeks.” We’re at CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) 2026, booth #213 this week. We're on a mission to empower the most innovative legal teams with flexible legal talent, and NerdWallet is consistently one of the most forward-thinking teams in fintech. NerdWallet’s first placement was a Commercial Counsel role. That person is still with the team today, and the partnership has expanded around them to cover legal ops, paralegal, and compliance work. Thank you, Bridgett Gatewood, for two years of trust and a partnership that keeps evolving.

  • Next stop: the Windy City! Stronger by Design is CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium)'s theme this year. As the industry rethinks how legal departments are structured, resourced, and operated, it’s a great fit. We’ll be in Chicago all week and would love to connect. If you’re attending: • Stop by booth #213 for a demo of the Legal.io Enterprise Platform • Join us Tuesday evening for a happy hour at Skydeck with Wolters Kluwer • Grab a Stanley tumbler, Alo hat, or Nike bag at the booth You can schedule time with the team using the Calendly link in the comments. See you in Chicago!

  • The modern in-house lawyer is no longer just a legal advisor. They’re a business partner. That’s one of the central findings from a recent analysis we did of nearly 200,000 job postings collected between 2021 and 2026. The data tells a clear story: • Cross-functional collaboration demand jumped from 17% to 29% • Stakeholder management rose from 22% to 34% • Leadership requirements surged from 23% to 42% These expectations now appear in job postings across commercial, corporate, employment, and technology law; at every seniority level, not just the top. The market expects every legal hire to work across the business, not just within the legal function.

  • We’re still riding the energy from a week of great conversations and community at ACC Legal Operations Network 2026. Now we’re getting ready to head back to Chicago for CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) and we have something exciting planned with Wolters Kluwer. Can you guess where we’ll be hosting our CLOC event? Best view of the week guaranteed. If you'll be at CLOC, drop a comment or send us a DM. We'd love to get you on the invite list.
