It was our honor to not just host the Green Sports Alliance Summit at one of our partner venues, the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, but to share the innovative strategies Levy venues use to create menus that are as delicious as they are environmentally-conscious. The future of sports fandom goes beyond the event - it’s about creating experiences that people want to enjoy and share. The Kentucky Derby is exactly that. Often dubbed “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports,” it’s a true bucket list event that packs in hundreds-of-thousands each year because the experience extends far beyond a single race. People come for the fashion, the food, the Juleps and the overall atmosphere. And once you’ve gotten your first taste, it becomes a tradition you yearn to return to year after year. Creating new fans who not only want to experience that first taste, but feel inspired to make it a reality, is the trick. And the winning recipe to building that cultural relevancy means targeting the right talent who can capture and convey what makes the Derby special in ways that resonate with new audiences. As the hospitality leader in sports and entertainment, we brought that strategy to life by assembling a roster of elite athletes to engage sports fans and show them why they need to experience the Derby for themselves. DeAndre Hopkins, Fred Warner, Joakim Noah and Zay Flowers all enjoyed their first Derby with Levy - checking it off their respective bucket lists. Today, as the final beam rose into place, we treated 1,500 trade workers to a home-cooked lunch to celebrate their hard work and the amazing progress taking shape at this magnificent new entertainment destination.
