We enjoyed the coffee, bites, and conversation at our first ever “Study Break” with our law student mentees and attorney mentors last Saturday. We spent time with our friends at Spark Social for coffee, bagels, and an opportunity to take a break and destress from law finals. Thank you to everyone who has given their time to the mentorship program this spring and to Zuckerman Spaeder LLP for sponsoring this event. Wishing all our law student members the best of luck on finals, graduation, the bar exam, and summer internships (wherever this summer may take you)! 🌈

We love HBA-DC, pro bono, and all of the fabulous orgs that were represented on yesterday’s panel (Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, Lambda Legal, and Whitman-Walker). It is a moral imperative of ours to connect our attorneys with those who are doing this important work and to encourage active participation across our bar association. We couldn’t be more grateful to have The Hispanic Bar Association of DC (HBA-DC) as our partner and ally. Thanks to all who came out to the panel yesterday. We hope to see you all at another one of our programs soon. 🌈
The Hispanic Bar Association of DC (HBA-DC) was excited to partner this week with the The District of Columbia LGBTQ+ Bar Association on an engaging event highlighting pro bono opportunities across the District. HBA-DC is grateful to Sasha Buchert, Lambda Legal; Atenas Burrola, Amica Center for Immigrant Rights; and Amy N., Whitman Walker, for an engaging discussion with our members, as well as to DC LGBTQ+ Bar Co-Presidents Andrew Dam and Payton Thornton, and Board Members Scott Novak and Michael Heard Snow, for welcoming and partnering with HBA-DC.

We are excited to see our law student and attorney mentors at Spark Social on Saturday! There is still time to sign up here: https://lnkd.in/eZW5cqch.
Our law student mentorship program is in its first year, and we are so proud of the connections we have been able to facilitate between LGBTQ+ practicing attorneys and law students. If you are a part of the mentorship program, please consider joining us and our friends at Spark Social for this "study break." Many thanks to Zuckerman Spaeder for sponsoring. -- As the semester wraps up and we enter finals, we wanted to create a space for mentors and mentees to connect, check in, and take a short break from studying. This is a great opportunity to talk with mentors about law school, exams, or anything else on your mind - or to simply take some time to decompress with your fellow students. Refreshments will be provided, and we encourage you to stop by. We hope to see you all there! RSVP: https://lnkd.in/ekKWTZEH
