Lucille is shaking up senior nutrition. The company launched high-protein, high-fiber shakes to help older adults combat frailty, muscle loss, and digestive issues tied to aging. Its high-calorie, seed oil-free formula includes milk proteins, chicory root fiber, and date syrup alongside a comprehensive vitamin mix — introducing “whole-food” ingredients to the $6.2B senior meal replacement market. Scaling access, it’s available on Amazon and soon within assisted living communities. A better-for-you nutritional aid, Lucille is inviting the silver generation into a golden age of wellness.

Overlooked usually means misunderstood. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it’s a good time to revisit one of the most powerful ways to make progress: listening to the communities themselves and learning about the complex problems they face. When we set out to build Lucille, we knew we had to do just that. Senior nutrition hasn’t changed in decades. So we decided to change the story. Today, Ad Age featured our Lucille hero film in its Creative Roundup. This feels especially meaningful because Lucille is deeply personal. Lucille is named after my grandma. She’s 91. She gardens nonstop, dominates bridge games, and is an energetic day trader. She’s living proof that aging doesn’t have to look clinical, joyless, or diminished. As she likes to say, her 90s are the best years of her life. And yet, the senior nutrition category tells a much colder story. Products are designed to look and feel like medicine and marketing is driven by fear. But in our research, seniors were clear: “I don’t want to be treated like a patient.” So instead of leading with claims (which we have plenty of), we led with a person. This film is completely unscripted - there are no actors, no lines, just my grandmother being totally herself. The moment of her dancing in the car? Completely unplanned - that’s just Lucille. I want to say a huge thank you to Kyle Rosenbluth and frank and beans pictures. The day we spent filming with my grandma will forever be a core memory and it wouldn’t have been possible without your creativity, patience, and professionalism. Thank you for trusting that authenticity, and a little whimsy, belong in this category, even if it hasn’t looked like this before. And of course, to Tim Nudd for recognizing our work.
