As we continue to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, we’re highlighting members of the Markel Asian Professionals (MAP) Network and the experiences that shape how they show up at Markel. Today, we’re featuring Kinnier Lastimosa, Associate General Counsel, Coverage. In our Chicago office, Kinnier has seen how MAP brings people together, from Diwali and Lunar New Year celebrations to moments that foster connection and cultural understanding across teams. Through MAP’s Toastmasters Chapter, he also found a space to share a personal story he never expected to tell at work: the conversation with his mother when he chose to pursue a degree in poetry instead of applying to medical school. That experience led to an unexpected realization. The study of poetry became a foundation for law school and ultimately shaped his career in insurance coverage law. #AANHPIHeritageMonth #WeAreMarkel

Markel Momentum in action. 🌵 Last week in Scottsdale, AZ, Brendan Hanley, Caleb Hardee, Dale Kim, and Sean Sullivan joined Jeff Fields to host 21 RT Specialty associates for a full-day RT Binding Bootcamp. The session focused on deepening understanding of Markel and a deep dive into Binding P&C. Beyond the training, the day reinforced what makes partnerships like this work, a shared commitment to people and meaningful relationships. This focus was clearly reflected under the leadership of Jessalynn Suda. The experience ended with time to connect and celebrate, including golf games at Trevor's. Markel Momentum is our national wholesale client engagement and education program, designed to strengthen relationships with strategic partners and support the next generation of underwriting talent. ✨ #MarkelMomentum
