Through determination and commitment to our common goal, I’m delighted to share that since the start of 2024, 53 Marriott International hotels in the UK, Ireland and the Nordics have successfully met targets to reduce food waste by 50%. Measuring both pre and post-consumer waste, the teams have now delivered an overall reduction in grams per cover food waste of 51%. A fantastic result and the first of this scale achieved in the UK. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability and our dedication to minimising our environmental impact. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and innovation from every team member that made this achievement possible – from portion sizes and menu changes to working with suppliers, developing new recipes, and tracking waste with Winnow’s AI waste management systems – our kitchen teams have taken up the challenge.
