Thank you to all who attended yesterday’s annual Housing Solutions Breakfast and for being part of the conversation on opening the door for the next generation. A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Challenge Seattle CEO and former Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire, for sharing her insights on keeping Puget Sound strong and competitive. Her remarks reinforced the need for clear standards and predictable timelines to lower costs and meet our region’s housing needs, and the importance of partnerships in this work. We also appreciated hearing from Em Stone, Senior Housing Policy Advisor to Gov. Bob Ferguson, about ongoing efforts to facilitate much-needed housing and why this work matters so much. #ICYMI, we also unveiled MBAKS’s Housing Toolkit at the breakfast, highlighting practical solutions to help build more homes and ensure everyone in our region has a place to call home. You can check out the new toolkit here: https://lnkd.in/etGUfbZh

Every GMN brings together builders, remodelers, suppliers, and industry professionals who are serious about growing their businesses and building meaningful connections. This Thursday is your final opportunity to experience GMN at our Bellevue office in 2026. The best opportunities rarely come from a scheduled meeting. They come from a conversation, an introduction, or a chance encounter with the right person at the right time. Will you be in the room when it happens? Spots are filling fast, so if you're interested in joining us for an evening of great food, valuable connections, and new opportunities, send us a DM or email membership@mbaks.com. We'd love to have you there. Don't be the person hearing about the connections that were made after the event. Be there to make them yourself.

As you’ve probably heard, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is now law, bringing together a broad package of reforms aimed at increasing housing production, improving access to financing, streamlining certain federal environmental reviews, and encouraging land-use and permitting reforms. Many provisions will take time to implement but will create new tools to address housing supply and affordability. This is a positive step in the right direction as we work to address housing shortages and improve affordability nationwide, and particularly in our region. Thanks to the National Association of Home Builders, who played a key role in securing this important new law.

Last Friday, MBAKS partnered with the City of Auburn (Washington) and 79 volunteers to plant 109 trees at Brannan Park. As a central hub for nearby schools and local families, Brannan Park is a key open space in Auburn. Together, we stepped up to make a lasting, positive environmental impact where it is needed most. Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves to help build a greener, more sustainable future for our community! #CommunityImpact #Volunteer #PlantingABetterTomorrow #MBAKS #CityofAuburn

Current residents, newcomers, and the next generation are being priced out of our communities because there are not enough housing choices. Middle housing is part of the solution. Duplexes, triplexes, townhomes, cottage housing, and ADUs add more options in established neighborhoods at price points that work for more people, making room for what matters most to our communities.
