Mayer attorneys Deborah Junek and Abigail Raney secured summary judgment in a wrongful death case in Andrews County, Texas, resulting in the dismissal of all claims with prejudice. By identifying a key dispositive issue early, Mayer successfully demonstrated the employee was not acting within the course and scope of employment at the time of the incident — resolving the matter efficiently through strategic motion practice.

What a weekend at the Battle of the Bayou! Huge congratulations to associates Ashley Purcell, Katherine Sartain, and Raygen Lee, for an incredible performance at this year’s Young Lawyers Mock Trial Tournament hosted by Judge Christine Weems in Harris County, Texas. The semifinals featured a Mayer vs. Mayer matchup! Katherine and Raygen advanced to the finals and earned a second-place finish, and Raygen took home the Best Overall Advocate honor. Six trials in one weekend, all while balancing active caseloads. This team showed true grit, preparation, and teamwork, and we couldn’t be prouder!

A focused, trial-ready approach led to a strong result in a high-exposure broker case. Facing significant exposure just weeks before trial, Mayer attorneys, Kasia Victoria Daniec and Sarah Clark secured a favorable settlement. Congratulations to the team on a well-executed result.
