A little friendly competition during Hospital Week! Merit Health River Oaks CEO John Whiteside spent time walking the halls, visiting with employees and quizzing team members on our hospital's new vision statement. Moments like these reflect the culture, teamwork and shared purpose that drive exceptional care every day.

Celebrating National Tie-Dye Day! 💜💙💚💛🩷 Members of the Merit Health River Oaks and Merit Health Woman's Hospital leadership teams recently spent time with the talented Seedsters at The Mustard Seed, where we teamed up to create one of a kind tie-dye shirts. Just like the beautiful, vibrant pottery and other creations the Seedsters are known for, each shirt was a reflection of their creativity and style. We're so grateful for the opportunity to spend time with this amazing, fun group!

Recently, the physicians, administration and staff members at Merit Health River Oaks were honored to dedicate the Royal Oaks Unit in memory of Glenn Curtiss Warren, MD — a cofounder of the hospital in 1981, an exceptional neurosurgeon, and a physician who touched countless lives through his compassion, skill, and dedication to patient care. Dr. Warren’s legacy continues to live on through the patients he healed, the colleagues he inspired, and the hospital he helped build. We are grateful to have shared this special dedication with his family, friends, and those whose lives were forever impacted by his work. His memory will always remain a part of our hospital family.

Join us in celebrating our Merit Health Woman's Hospital DAISY Award winner, Cheryl Giles, RN!  The DAISY Award is a national recognition that honors nurses who provide extraordinary clinical skill, compassion, and care for patients and families. It was created to celebrate the difference nurses make every day through their dedication, empathy, and excellence at the bedside. Cheryl, a dedicated nurse in our Labor & Delivery department, truly embodies what the DAISY Award stands for. Her calming presence, exceptional skill, and genuine compassion help guide families through some of life’s most meaningful moments. Thank you, Cheryl, for the incredible care you provide and the lasting impact you make—we are proud to have you on our team!

We are pleased to recognize Merit Health Woman's Hospital's March Employee of the Month, Zoe Lewis, Imaging. Zoe's co-worker says, "Zoe always has a smile on her face and is such a joy to work with. She is so sweet to her patients and everyone she encounters. Zoe has done a wonderful job here and is an extremely good mammography tech. She pays so much attention to detail and always wants everything to be perfect so that the patient gets the best care. We are so happy to have her on our team." Congratulations Zoe!

Merit Health is spreading the love in Central Mississippi. Our team and community partners collected enough peanut butter to provide over 18,000 meals through the Mississippi Food Network. Our heartfelt thanks to the many organizations who partnered with us to fight hunger in our community.
