Four years ago, thousands of Jewish advocates, clergy, leaders, and allies gathered on the National Mall to declare what we've always known: reproductive freedom is a Jewish value. The Jewish Rally for Abortion Justice wasn't just a moment — it has galvanized a movement. Over 150 Jewish organizations, representing every denomination, stood together in our nation's capital with one voice. As attacks on reproductive rights continue today, that voice continues to speak loudly. Join us in the fight for abortion access: ncjw.org/pledge

Last night, NCJW's own Alexandra Lehman took the stage at The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington's Annual Meeting to remind folks that reproductive freedom is a Jewish value! Alex spoke about the Supreme Court's recent decision on Mifepristone access, the Indiana court ruling challenging the state-wide abortion ban, and the work NCJW's changemakers do every day. Proud to have NCJW voices leading the charge to discuss and advocate for reproductive freedom.

The Supreme Court's ruling in Callais v. Louisiana clears the way for a tidal wave of attacks on the voting power of Black people, warns NCJW's senior director of programs and events in a new blog post. NCJW CEO Jody Raban is right: we won’t let Christian nationalism dictate our faith, our rights, or our control over our own bodies. That’s why we gathered over 50 faith organizations to file a Supreme Court amicus brief calling for the Court to preserve access to mifepristone. The battle over mifepristone access is back at the Supreme Court — and so are we ⚖️ Today, NCJW led 50+ faith organizations in an amicus brief to the Supreme Court to remind them: protecting religious freedom means preserving access to medication abortion — and that includes mifepristone. We 💙 our NCJW interns!! Our incredible spring interns recently spent a full day on Capitol Hill talking to members of Congress and advocating to protect voting rights. 📷 Pictured from left to right in photo 1: Kate LaFrance, Alison Brodbeck, and Ariel Plevan. Does this sound like an opportunity for you or someone you know? We're looking for interns for our Fall '26 cohort! Applications are now open — learn more at ncjw.org/interns.

Right before sunset and the start of Shabbat on Friday evening, the Fifth Circuit released a ruling in a case that could have a severe impact on abortion access. After taking our moment to rest over Shabbat, we're back online and here's what we have to say: We are furious; we are fired up; and, on behalf of NCJW’s 250,000 advocates, we will fight for the reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy of all people with everything we have.

Proud to partner with Tel Aviv University to expand the scholarship and teaching of gender studies in Israel. Read more about this week's conference on gender equality with researchers from across academic disciplines:
"When viewpoints are missing, knowledge is partial." TAU and the National Council of Jewish Women held a conference on gender equality this week, Gender@TAU, where Board of Governors Chairwoman Dafna Meitar Nechmad drove home this point. The conference therefore focused on bringing in the female perspective, sorely lacking in nearly every field from academia to medicine to business. Over 200 participants heard from researchers and field experts on topics from the cause of the gender pay gap, to why women have worse health outcomes than men, to the history of women in conflict zones. Thanks to NCJW, friends and supporters, and the hard work of determined female faculty and students, Tel Aviv University is a leading force for equity in Israel. Its Women's and Gender Studies Program was the first in the country, and today has expanded with researchers from all over campus and hundreds of alumni. To learn more about the gender gap and its unexpected effects, read the article linked in the first comment. #dei #gender #women #tau
