Volatile energy markets have changed how industrial companies plan and operate. In this case study, we share how we worked with Stora Enso to develop an AI-powered energy demand prediction tool. Built to combine real-time data with predictive analytics, the solution supports more accurate planning and faster responses to change in highly dynamic conditions. Seamlessly integrated into existing tools and workflows, the solution fits into everyday operations without disruption. The case study shows how AI-powered forecasting can turn uncertainty into clarity. Explore the full case study: https://lnkd.in/gdaxWuu3

Many manufacturing challenges come down to one thing: decisions are made too late. ⏰ GenAI has sparked a lot of interest, but on the factory floor, value is created when real-time #data is combined with AI-driven #analytics, as we explore in this article: https://lnkd.in/gSW9xA86 We look at why real-time data is the foundation for meaningful #AI use in #manufacturing, and an example how large companies are navigating volatile energy markets, and where GenAI fits alongside machine learning and analytics. When decisions are based on delayed data, the impact is felt long before teams have a chance to respond.

We are thrilled to share this case study on our collaboration with St1 Nordic Oy on building a data and analytics platform (DAAP) that helps bring data closer to the business. Explore the full story on our website: https://lnkd.in/gyZVcU25 As St1 moved beyond traditional oil products, it was clear that renewing technology alone would not be enough. The focus shifted to establishing a data foundation and an operating and governance model that scales with growing business needs. Today, the platform enables real-time insights, supports new data-driven use cases across the business, and provides a foundation for advanced analytics and AI that can evolve alongside the organization. 🚀

Together with SSAB, we are rethinking how slab handling is carried out at SSAB's Raahe mill by taking a truly user-centric approach that goes beyond technology and focuses on the real needs of the people on the ground. Through deep user research and the development of early concepts and prototypes, we created designs that aim to simplify daily work and better support the teams who handle slabs every day. The next phase will bring the solution to life, with the goal of improving safety and creating a smoother, more responsive production environment. Our Head of Data & AI at Nortal Finland, Ergin Tuganay, shared his thoughts on the EU Data Act and its impact on manufacturers in a recent opinion piece in Finnish magazine Talouselämä ➡️ https://lnkd.in/drJD5epX In his opinion piece, Tuganay explains how the regulation shifts data ownership and grants manufacturers a legal right to access operational data from the equipment they use. He also points out that without quick and coordinated action, Finland could fall behind more agile markets. With proper planning, however, there’s strong potential to cut costs, improve maintenance practices, and stay competitive. 🚀 Read the full opinion piece on our website and in Talouselämä!

Digital identity continues to sit at the centre of the UK’s modernisation debate, but most discussions still hinge on concerns around centralisation and surveillance. Estonia offers a useful counterpoint. In a recent interview, Andres Raieste, Nortal’s Global Head of Public Sector, highlights how Estonia’s decentralised X-Road architecture and interoperable digital ID ecosystem built trust over time not through technology alone but through transparent governance and clear public value. For the UK, where regulatory foundations are strong but public caution remains high, Estonia’s experience points to a clear insight: adoption increases when the governance of personal data is clearly defined and communicated. 👉 Read the full interview: Digital ID the Estonian way: what the UK can learn about freedom over surveillance ➡️ https://lnkd.in/d8NQXR8w Thanks to e-Estonia for the conversation.
