  • Science is setting sail in Alaska this season! Through an expanded partnership with NatureMetrics, we’re growing our environmental DNA (eDNA) Biodiversity Monitoring Program from a successful pilot to 18 Norwegian Cruise Line voyages.   Across Alaska’s Inside Passage, our crew will collect water samples to analyze eDNA, generating insights into marine mammals, fish species, and the ecosystems that define this region. This data supports ongoing research and contributes to conservation and species protection.   We're also implementing new interactive, educational activities for guest of all ages to explore the species identified through the program and better understand Alaska’s marine biodiversity.   Together, these efforts demonstrate our Sail & Sustain® strategy in action: connecting science, conservation, and guest education, while deepening our understanding of the ecosystems in which we operate.    Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eFgytxpA

  • We kicked off Earth Week at PortMiami in the best way, by welcoming the next generation onboard 🌎 In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, we hosted 30 incredible mentors and youth for a day of learning, exploring, and getting a real behind-the-scenes look at maritime careers and sustainability in action. From panel conversations with industry leaders to a vessel tour, the energy and curiosity in the room were contagious. We’re also proud to support BBBS of Miami with a $10,000 donation, along with an additional $5,000 donated by Senator René Garcia, to help continue their impactful mentorship programs. Moments like these are what Sail & Sustain® is all about, connecting with our communities and inspiring future leaders to think big (and maybe even set sail)! Special thanks to Senator René Garcia, Juan A. Fernandez-Barquin, Alina García, Gale Nelson, and Hydi Webb for joining us!

  • Seatrade Cruise Global brought together leaders from across the cruise sector for a week focused on the forces shaping its future.   During the State of the Global Cruise Industry keynote, NCLH President & CEO John Chidsey joined fellow cruise line executives for a panel moderated by CNBC’s Contessa Brewer, covering demand, technology, and continued growth.   Chidsey underscored one of cruising’s greatest strengths: its value proposition. “The cruising experience: the dining, the entertainment, the destinations. No one touches it from a value perspective.”   He also pointed to what sustains that advantage, including an integrated model that supports faster innovation, a disciplined focus on execution, and a balanced mix of private destinations and authentic experiences.   Across the panel and the broader #STCGlobal program, the message was clear: the industry is not only growing, but evolving with intention and continuing to raise the bar for how travel experiences are delivered.

  • During a recent call in Brazil, Oceania Marina's crew traveled to Boca da Valeria, a small village deep within the Amazon rainforest. Home to the Valeria tribe, this community of about 100 Indigenous residents live in close connection to the surrounding environment, where centuries of traditions and daily life are shaped by the natural world. While there, crew members spent time with families, visited the local school, and delivered essential supplies, including food, clothing, and school materials. Experiences like this allow our crew to connect more personally with the communities we visit while giving back, supporting both local needs and crew well-being through our Wellness at Sea initiative. Thank you to Oceania Cruises' Marina crew for the time and support they shared while ashore!

  • Communities across Oʻahu and Maui recently experienced the worst flooding the region has seen in over 20 years, resulting in widespread damage and forcing families from their homes. Through our Sail & Sustain® program, we are contributing $50,000 to support immediate relief and long-term recovery. These funds are directed to the Lāhui Foundation and the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, two organizations leading critical work on the ground. Their efforts include food distribution, cleanup, and assistance for residents, small businesses, and farmers. Supporting the places we visit is a responsibility we take seriously. By partnering with trusted local organizations, we aim to strengthen recovery initiatives and contribute to long-term resilience. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected, and we are committed to helping these communities rebuild.

  • Life at sea requires resilience, adaptability, and energy every day. That level of performance is only possible when crew well-being is treated as a priority, not a perk.   On every ship, dedicated crew enrichment teams design experiences that bring people together and strengthen community onboard. Shore excursions, cultural celebrations, creative activities, and moments of recognition allow crew members to recharge and perform at their best. Alongside our broader wellness efforts, these experiences help our crew thrive and deliver the world-class service our guests expect. #WeAreNCLH
