NuScale was in Austin, Texas for Reuters Events: SMR & Advanced Reactor 2026. The conference brought together industry leaders, utilities, financiers, and partners to discuss what it will take to accelerate #SMR deployment, from meeting rising data center energy demand to advancing regulatory milestones, strengthening supply chains, and enabling strategic partnerships. NuScale leaders John Hopkins and Chuck Goodnight attended and engaged in conversations on how advanced nuclear can help meet growing demand with reliable, carbon-free energy. Our HR team was also onsite. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to connect with NuScale and learn more about the people, technology, and opportunities helping power the future of energy. #SMRAR #PoweringTheFuture
About us
NuScale has designed a new kind of nuclear power plant that is smarter, safer, cleaner, and more cost competitive than the large gigawatt nuclear power plants of the past. At the heart of the NuScale power plant is the NuScale Power Module™ (NPM), a small modular reactor (SMR) that brings together traditional components—the reactor vessel, steam generator, pressurizer, and containment—into a single, simplified, and fully factory-fabricated unit. Each NPM can produce 77 megawatts of electricity (MWe), and one NuScale plant can house up to 12 NPMs for a total of 924 MWe (gross). This scalability feature is unique to NuScale and allows for customization of facility output to match demand and project economics. NuScale has achieved a paradigm shift in the level of safety of a nuclear power plant facility—safety comes first, second to none. NuScale’s Triple Crown for Nuclear Plant Safety™ design ensures that on loss of all electricity to the power station, an undesirable situation for other nuclear plant designs, each NPM will safely shut down and self-cool, indefinitely, with no need for operator or computer action, AC or DC power, or additional water. This capability is a first for commercial nuclear power. Power strategy is becoming a growth strategy. As data centers and industrial facilities push electricity demand higher, the real question is no longer just how to get more power, but how to secure power that is reliable, predictable, and low carbon. That is why behind-the-meter generation is moving from niche concept to strategic priority. Our latest blog explores why this shift is accelerating and what it could mean for the future of industrial energy. https://hubs.li/Q04ftRrK0 #SMRinsights #exploringSMRs

NuScale recently hosted the 2026 Supplier Working Group event, held at Honeywell’s Customer Experience Center in Houston, Texas, on April 21–22. The event brought together 37 supplier organizations and 106 attendees from NuScale and our supplier network to align on company strategy, upcoming opportunities, execution readiness, and supply chain priorities for near-term SMR deployments. “Our partnerships across the NuScale supply chain continue to strengthen as we align on execution, mitigate market challenges, and advance readiness for near-term SMR deployments. Together, we are building the foundation to deliver reliable, carbon-free energy at scale. This kind of alignment is what allows us to move from planning to real execution.” — Graham Callaway, Senior Director, Supply Chain Thank you to Honeywell and all participating supplier partners for helping strengthen collaboration across the NuScale supply chain. #NuclearSupplyChain #PoweringTheFuture

The energy at the 2026 ANS Student Conference was impossible to miss. From conversations with students, faculty, and industry professionals, one thing stood out: interest in advanced nuclear is growing, and the next generation is ready to be part of it. At our booth, we had thoughtful discussions about NuScale’s technology, our progress toward deployment, and the role SMRs can play in delivering clean, reliable energy. We also connected with many students eager to learn more about internship opportunities and how they can contribute to the future of nuclear innovation. It was especially encouraging to see such a highly engaged and diverse group of attendees, including strong representation of women entering the nuclear field. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us. We’re encouraged by the enthusiasm, the questions, and the momentum we saw throughout the conference. #ANS2026 #STEMCareers #PoweringTheFuture
