Ohio is focused on strengthening workforce readiness experiences for students! In addition to purchasing machinery and hiring licensed manufacturing instructors, funding from our recent career-tech grant announcement includes building partnerships with local manufacturers for job-shadowing, internships, and work-based learning. ⇨ https://lnkd.in/gNFdS7Dh

Educators in the Teays Valley Local School District are making critical connections between the classroom and essential workforce experiences. They have centered programs around high-quality career-connected learning to ensure students are prepared for every next step following high school. Director Stephen Dackin visited Teays Valley High School to see firsthand how career-connected learning is part of the school day. The tour included an overview of several programs, including presentations on the engineering and electrical programs from students learning in these pathways. Thank you to Teays Valley district leaders, educators, and students for showcasing how these in-demand skills are connected to future career and education opportunities.

We’re cheering for these culinary connoisseurs! Today we hosted our Ohio Grown: Student Chef Showcase. Five student teams prepared original school lunch entrées, featuring fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins, before a panel of judges. Congratulations to each of the talented student chefs competing today, representing these school communities! 🍽️ Community STE[A]M Academy – Xenia 🍽️ Cory-Rawson Local Schools 🍽️ Hamilton City School District 🍽️ Sycamore Community Schools 🍽️ Youngstown City School District Earlier this school year, we challenged students to submit original recipes using local, fresh foods that can be used in school meal programs. Student teams submitted their original recipes along with a nutrient analysis and cost breakdown, to demonstrate that the recipe can be replicated as part of a school meal and served in cafeterias across the state.
